Hermans Hermits starring Barry Whitwam Australian tour

In august and September this year legendary British 60's group Hermans Hermits with original member and Drummer Barry Whitwam known for hits like I'm into Something Good, mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter, I'm Henry the Eighth I Am, There's A Kind Of Hush, No Milk TOday, A Must to Avoid, My Sentimental Friend and many others are touring Australia which it will be their 33rd tour as their first was back in January 1966 with Tom Jones and NZ rocker Ray Columbus. I have seen the group 7 times which my first time was at the British 60's concert @ Festival Hall on Saturday February 11th 1995 and from Thursday October 19th 2000 onwards have seen them mainly at Kedron Wavell Services Club except on at Mt Gravatt Bowls Club on Thursday September 4th 2008 and they put on an FANTASTIC Show doing their famous stuff as well as other classic rock songs which everyone sings along to those songs and have an great time. Water For Elephants

Last Saturday I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie Water For Elephants. It's 1931 during the Great Depression and Jacob Jankowski (Robert Pattinson) who is studying @ Cornell and he is doing his final exam when he's informed that his parents are killed in a car crash.With no money and no family Jacob is forced to take the roads and jumps on the train which he joins the circus "Benzini Brothers". Jacob does the odd jobs and meets the boss August Rosenbluth (Christoph Waltz) as well as MArlena his wife(Reese WItherspoon). Jacob starts to have feelings for marlena and August get suspicous about the relationship which it's gets interesting throughout the film. It's an AMAZING,BRILLIANT and a EXCELLENT movie with EXCELLENT & BRILLIANT acting by Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson and Christoph Waltz as well as Hal Holbrook who plays the older Jacob, Pail Schneider, Ken Foree and others as Tai as the elephant Rosie which she was excellent too. John Rowles concert @ Kedron Wavell

Last Friday Night I went to Kedron Wavell with My Mum Cath to see legendary New Zealand singer John Rowles and before the show me and Mum had dinner which I had Beef nachos and for desert had chocolate sundae. John rowles came out in the first set in an suit and a bow tie doing some of his hits and other songs as well as announcing that he is making one more tour before he retires which will start in New Zealand and then to Australia as well as writing his autobiography and he finished the first set with My Way which he imitated Frank Sinatra,Marlon Brando and even Michael jackson doing the movements which was great. During the interval met my Facebook friends Leanne and Heidi and saw Maryanne jamieson and Debbie from St Andrews War memorial hospital where I work. In the 2nd set he did his songs including If I Only had Time and others and also playing guitar and he was on until before 10.30pm which he was FANTASTIC and put on an FANTASTIC show. Hi Way 1 show @ Carina Leagues CLub May 14th 2011

ON Saturday may 14th I went to carina Leagues Club to see Hi Way 1 who are an local group and play around Brisbane and parts of Queensland and it was my 5th time seeing them which my first time was at Carina Leagues Club on Easter Saturday April 11th 2009. until that Saturday i had not seen them live since Friday August 21st 2009 @ carina Leagues Club when they had Taylor Gibson as lead singer as they were doing 50's and 60's music as well as some 70's stuff including Suzie Quatro. the line up i saw that Saturday night has Vanessa Falco as lead singer who has been in the group for 18 months which they do more 70's and 80's stuff as well as some 60's as they are becoming more of a party band which it's great to see. the show was just FANTASTIC and the band was just as GREAT as ever with Vanessa as lead singer which she is just EXCELLENT doing stuff from the Beatles,AC/DC, the Divinyls,Choirboys,Sunnyboys,Queen Cold Chisel,Elvis Presley,Cream, The Doobie bro

the Beatlegs Show @ Carina Leagues Club may 13th 2011

On Friday may 13th I went to see the Beatlegs who are an Beatles tribute band in Brisbane who play around Brisbane and the Gold Coast at Carina Leagues Club which it was my first time seeing them live and they were FANTASTIC. They did those great Beatles songs which still endures after all these years and they did 3 sets which the 1st was 1963-65,2nd 1966-67 including Sgt pepper and the 3rd 1968-70.Everybody was up on their feet dancing the night away and having an great time. I enjoyed the show very much and had an FANTASTIC time. Lucky Starr Queensland tour

In June this year legendary Australian singer Lucky Starr known for the song "I've been Everywhere" in 1962 is touring Queensland. Lucky starr who's been on the scene since 1959 and appeared on pop shows like Bandstand, 6 O'Clock ROck which even one time he hosted it, Sing Sing Sing, the Mavis Bramston show, In melbourne tonight and others and was also the first Australian to perform in las vegas as well as Vietnam in the 60's. Lucky still performs in the clubs around around Australia and does an mixture of rock'n'roll and country which he puts on an Great show. something borrowed

Last Monday I went to see the movie "SOmething Borrowed" at Southbank cinema. Rachel White(Gennifer Goodwin) an attorney in a New York law firm and Darcy RHone(Kate Hudson) are best friends and Rachel drinks too much at her 30th birthday party which she finds herself in bed with Dex Thaler(colin Egglesfield) whom she has had a crush on since law school. Roy Orbison The Monument Singles Collection (1960-64)

This is the double CD by Roy Orbison and this CD has just been released coinciding with the celebration of his birthday last weekend which he would have turned 75. This double CD is the Monument recordings which had his successful hits from 1960-64 and it has the A-sides and B-sides which he joined the label in 1959 after recording for Sun Records which he had an minor hit with Ooby Dooby in 1956 which went to no 59 and RCA which he did'nt have success and also would be with Monument until 1965 which he would have a lot of success with classic hits like Only the Lonley, Crying,Blue Angel, Running Scared, Pretty woman and others. Besides from this double CD it has an DVD which it's the Monument concert that was recorded in holland at the Singer Concert Zaal Laren on March 25th 1965 and it was aired on Combo an Dutch TV show which he performs 9 of the monument hits on this DVD and it shows Roy at the height of his career.
