Bobby Rydell 2012 Australian tour

In March 2012 legendary American singer Bobby Rydell known for hits back in the 60's like Swinging School, Volare, Sway, the Cha Cha CHa, Wild One, FOrget Him and others is touring Australia again. He made his first tour here back in 1960 promoted by lee gordon and has made many more Australian tours since then. I have seen him twice and he puts on an FANTASTIC show doing his hits as well doing an medley segment of Bye Bye Birdie and an Bobby Darin segement as well. To those in Australia who have not seen him live but who want to see him go and see him as he will put on an show that will bring back memories for fans who grew up in the 60's and hope you get an chance to enjoy seeing an legendary American teen idol. last Friday November 25th I went to the QPAC concert hall with my mum Cath to see the musical Looking Through A Glass Onion.I had heard about this musical about John Lennon for years but I had never seen it and I have known John Waters' work for many years including his stint on Play School and other TV shows like All Saints, the mini series All the Rivers Run, Rush and many others. I had gotten the tickets for my birthday back iN September from my sister Madonna and was so looking forward to it which me and Mum caught the bus to South Brisbane. I bought the program and then went inside which we waited. the show started around 8pm with John Waters and Stewart D'Arrieta coming on stage with an excellent back up musicians including Tony Mitchell from Sherbet and in the first set John Waters doing John Lennon and doing the Lennon solo stuff as well as the Beatles and would do the same in the second set as well as he would evoke his honesty, bitter sweet sense of humor, self cris

Last Sunday November 20th I went to see the Legendary British rock band the Moody Blues. I had always been an fan of them since the early 90's when I first heard Go Now and Nights In White Satin which then in late 90's starting to know the others like Your Wildest Dream, I Know You're Out There Somewhere, I'm Just A singer In A Rock'n'roll Band, The Story in Your Eyes, Ride My See Saw and others. I wanted to see the group which i would love to have gone in 2005 but could'nt go and when I heard about them coming this year I knew I had to go which I bought my ticket @ Ticketek in the city on Friday September 9th. I was so Looking forward to seeing them as they have been one of my favourite groups and come November 20th I went to see them. I arrived at the Convention Center which Julie Mitchell (Claire's mother) dropped me off after being to Greg and Julie Dodge's place for the Friendship group Christmas Party and I bought the program. Last Saturday November 19th I went to see pat Capocci and Rusty Pinto @ Morningside Services Club which I have seen Pat an few times and I think it's my first seeing Rusty. The show started around 8.10pm or after with Pat Capocci did his set which he did mainly his own songs but did an Bo Diddley cover and did an excellent set which he was on for about 45 minutes. then there was an interval which I bought an Pepsi max as well as meeting ramona's boyfriend james as well as Bobbie who was at the Johnny Cash Tribute last month and also saw Sheri,Walter and Laura. Rusty Pinto came on which he did 2 FANTASTIC sets which he would do an mixture of original songs and covers like ELvis Presley and Johnny Guitar Watson and the back up band including pat Capocci was just FANTASTIC which Pat did played brilliant guitar. the show finished at 11.30pm and it was an ROCKIN & FANTASTIC show which everyone had an great time including me. Last Friday November 18th I went to kedron Wavell Services Club where I saw legendary Australian singer songwriters Russell Morris and Brian Cadd which it was my 9th time seeing Russell and my 4th seeing brian which prior to last Friday I had not seen Russell since the Cotton keays and Morris show @ kedron Wavell on Friday October 16th 2009 and Brian @ Mt Gravatt Bowls Club with Russell on Saturday April 26th 2008. the show started @ 8.25pm with brian and Russell coming on stage starting with an song from their new album "I'm In Love Again" and would be on stage for the hour and 45 minutes doing their hits as well as another sing from their new Album and finished off with the classic Rolling Stones hit "Honky TOnk WOmen". the finished around 10.10pm which both Brian and Russell were FANTASTIC sounding great as ever as well as their whack sense of humor which was very funny and Brian mentioned that he was going to be an grandfather in an week and an half and als

This is the DVD of the legendary British group the Hollies which it's the first official retrospective and it was released last month. In this DVD Graham Nash, Allan Clarke, Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott talk about like the formation of the group, Graham meeting Allan at the age of 6 as well as starting singing together doing the Lord's Prayer as well as the influence of the Everly brothers, Tony and Bobby joining the group, the recording Studio Abbey ROad, producer Ron Richards, exprementing their sound, some of the inspirations behind the songs, how they did the songs like I'm Alive and Look Through Any Window, getting songs like the Air That I Breathe, Just one Look and the line up changes including the departure of Graham Nash who went on to greater success with Crosby Stills and Nash and Young. LAst Friday November 11th I went to Kedron Wavell Services Club to Australian singer Daryl braithwaite which it was my 4th time seeing him live. The show started at 8.25pm with Daryl Braithwaite and his band came on stage starting off with Blueswalkin from the 1976 Sherbet album "Howzat" and would put on an 1 hour and 2o minute show doing the songs from his 80's and 90's hits as well as the other Sherbet song Howzat as well as cover songs and 2 new songs which everyone would sing along to the songs. The show finished at 9.45pm finishing off with the Horses which everyone sang along to that and someone in the audience gave an toy horse to Daryl towards the end of the show which was very good. On Sunday november 6th I went to Kedron Wavell to see the Rock'n'Roll Spectacular show to raise the money for the Endeavour Foundation and it was an FANTASTIC day which i'm sure they raised an lot of money for it. The line up of the show on that was an bit different again but it was GREAT and like Digger Revell wasn't supposed to be in the actual line up but was in the last minute but as well as Lee Conway wasn't well and Sharon Rowntree could'nt come but it was an GREAT line up anyway. Last Saturday night October 29th I went to the Easts Leagues Club in Coorparoo to see an tribute show to the legendary American 70's group The Eagles called the Eagels Band and it was my first time seeing this band but it was my 2nd time this year seeing an Eagles tribute which had been back on Friday July 29th @ Morningside Services Club where I saw one of those nights (Aka MAsters Of Rock). the show started around 8pm with the Eagels band coming on stage which they did the first set doing the classic stuff like Best of My Love, One of These Nights,Lyin Eyes, I can't Tell you why etc and there was an interval where i saw an friends of Dad's named janice and Bev which they are well. The second set had more of the classic Eagles stuff as well as some of the Don henley,Glenn Frey and Joe Walsh solo stuff and the show eventually finished by after 10.30pm which they finished it off with Hotel California.
