Able Magwitch show @ Carina Leagues Club

Last Friday February 24th I went to the Carina Leagues CLub to see an Brisbane group called Able Magwitch who does an tribute to the 70's music as well as being an legendary band who were formed in 1975 which they played around Brisbane and being support acts for people like Chuck berry,Little River Band,Status Quo,Hush,Paul McCartney and others which lasted for an decade and have reformed in the last few years with drummer and Original founding member Graham Garrett. The show started before 8pm which they did 3 FANTASTIC set doing stuff from the 70's of people like AC/DC,Abba,BAdfinger,Three Dog Night,Queen,Leo sayer,Linda Ronstadt, Boney M and others and also the members of the band wearing wigs in each of the sets as well as dressing in the different clothes which look great. the show lasted until after 11.30pm which I met members of the band and I asked Graham about what are the original members of the band doing these days which he told me 2 of them play in an band called

The Boys Light Up album was the debut album for Australian Crawl an group from Melbourne in Mt Eliza in the Mornington Peninsula who were formed in 1978 with the members having in 2 bands Spiff Rouch and the Flatheads and had brought the attention of David Briggs who was the guitarist with the Little River Band which it led them to get an recording contract with EMI. He would produced this album which was recorded at AAV studios in Melbourne from August 1979 to February 1980 and was released in April 1980 which it went to no 4 on the Australian album charts where it stayed for 101 weeks and eventually selling over 280,000 copies 5 times platinum. On Saturday I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie My Week With Marilyn. it's 1956 Colin Clark(eddie Redmayne)an asipring film maker gets an jon as assistant director for the movie Prince and the Showgirl that would star Laurence Oliver(Kenneth Branagah) and Marilyn Monroe(Michelle Williams). Marilyn arrives in England with her playwright husband Arthur Miller(Dougray Scott) as well as Paula Strasberg(Zoe Wanamaker) and Colin starts to hang with marilyn for a week which he intorduces her to British life as well as helping escape her Hollywod routine and the pressures of work. the Searchers @ kedron Wavell February 17th 2012

On Friday February 17th I went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary British group The Searchers which it was my 7th time seeing them as my 1st was at Kedron Wavell on fRIDAY March 16th 2001 as i went with mum and 6 more times have been at kedron Wavell as well which they have all been FANTASTIC.The current line up of the Searchers are original founding member John McNally on guitar and vocals,Bass and vocals since 1964 Frank Allen, guitar and lead vocals since 1985 Spencer James and on drums Scott Ottaway since 2010. It was by 1959 Marty Robbins was one of AMerica's successful country singers who had been recording for Columbia Records since 1951 with successful hits like A White Sportscoat and an Pink Carnation, The Story of My Life, The Hanging Tree, Please Don't Tease Me, Singing the Blues and others. Marty recorded the songs for the album that was to become Gunfighter Ballads and Trial Songs at the Bradley Film and Recording Studios in Nashville on April 7th 1959 which lasted that same day and the producer on it was Don Law who was the head of the country division for Columbia as well as the Glaser Brothers doing the background vocals, guitarists Grady Martin and Jack H Pruett, Bob Moore on bass and Louis Dunnon drums. Last Saturday I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie J edgar. Leonardo DiCaprico plays one of the most powerful men in America J Edgar Hoover who from 1924-1972 who was the head of the FBI. the events both personal and private in the film does not unfold chronoigcal but we do know what is happening as we see Hoover with his mother Anna(Judi Dench) as well as creating the FBI as his own kingdom. Last Friday February 10th i went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary Australian singer Doug Parkinson which it was my 5th time as my first seeing Doug was at Kedron Wavell with Max Merritt on Friday May 17th 2002 which Mum was with me, 2nd was at Kedron Wavell on Sunday September 14th also with Max Merritt which I came home from Southport as me,Mum,Dad and Heath spent the weekend there, 3rd at QPAC concert Hall on Thursday September 8th 2005 with Glenn Shorrock and Wendy Matthews and 4th at Kedron Wavell on Sunday September 21st 2008 which he was on his own this time and it was the day after my joint 30th birthday Party and also they were all FANTASTIC shows. Last Saturday February 4th I went to the Morningside Services Club to see the Venus Experience and the Beetles show which it was my 2nd time seeing the Beetles as I saw them at Easts Leagues Club last year on September 24th. the support act was an man doing Frank Spencer and it was very funny. Last Saturday Janaury 28th I went to KedroN Wavell Services Club to see the Fabulous sounds of the 60's show which it was my 13th time seeing the show but 14th seeing Darren J ray. greg Newman was the compere which the show STARTED @ 8PM and started with kaitlyn doing a World Of Our Own which in the first set doing Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pscyhdelia, Gene Pitney, Cliff Richard, Bee Gees and others which there was an quiz about the name of the songs to win an record which unfortunatly I did'nt win one this time. In the second set did surf music, girl group stuff, Elvis, Johnny O'Keefe, and others which there was an dance competition and the show finished around 10.30pm with Hey Jude which the Love Bugs coming on stage wearing beatles shirt.
