The Living years Mike Rutherford

The Living Years is the autobiography of British musician and founding member of both British groups Genesis and Mike and the Mechanics Mike Rutherford. In this book Mike talks about getting his first guitar at the age of 8, going to boarding schools the Leas and Charterhouse, forming his first groups the Chesters, the Climaxs and the Anon, forming Genesis with Tony banks, Peter Gabriel,Chris Stewart and Anthony Phillips in 1967 while @ Charterhouse, began recording in 1968 for Decca, the line up changes of the group with departures of Phillips in 1970,Peter Gabriel in 1975 as well as Phil Collins in 1970, the success in the 70's and 80's, forming Mike and the Mechanics in the 80's which they would have successful hits including All I Need Is A Miracle and the classic the Living Years and many others. It is an GREAT and an BRILLIANT book with great stories which was very impressive including the relationship with his father and it is an enjoyable read. Mike Rutherford is still going strong which he is back on the road with Mike and the Mechanics and this book is the first memoir of a member of Genesis. This book is a must for any Genesis fans as well as Mike and the Mechanics fans and I give this 4 and a half stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
