It's 50 years ago this year when the Australian music label Alberts Production was founded by Ted Albert who was from a family who had operated and owned the music publishing house J Albert & Son which it would become of of the most iconic and respected record labels in Australia and it is still going to this day with David Albert the nephew of Ted as managing director and also there is a 5 CD set that is out called Good Times celebrating this special milestone. On this 5 CD boxed it has the classic hits with acts who recorded for Alberts like Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, the Easybeats, Bobby and Laurie, The Throb, Ted Mulry, Stevie Wright, AC/DC,Flash and the Pan, mark Williams, Dallas Crane, Cheetah, The Angels etc as well as there is live recordings on it as well as Doc Neeson doing Walking In the Rain. It is AWESOME,SUPERB and BRILLIANT and it really ROCKS with great songs which holds up so well to this day as well as timeless quality and it is so enjoyable to listen

James Reyne the Anthology

James Reyne the Anthology is the double CD of legendary Australian singer-songwriter James Reyne. In this double CD is it has his solo stuff from the 80's up to now with hits like Fall Of Rome, Slave, Motor's Too Fast, One More River, Way Out West and many others. It is EXCELLENT, SUPERB and AWESOME with great songs which holds up very well to this day with timeless quality and it sounds so good and also has unseen photos as well as complete lyrics. James Reyne is still touring and still recording after all these years as he has been on the scene after 35 years when he started with Australian Crawl as well as being an soloist since the 80's. This double CD is an must for any James Reyne fans as well as Australian music fans and I give this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself an favour and BUY IT.

Chemistry Mondo Rock

In July 1981 Australian rock group released the album Chemistry which went to number 2 on the Australian album charts and it was from this album it had 4 hit singles the title track Chemistry, State Of the Heart, Cool World and Summer of 81 as well as being produced by Mark Moffatt and also this album is out on CD again as it was reissued by Aztec Records in May. On this remastered album besides from the original tracks there is 2 non LP B-sides as well as 4 unreleased demos and on the second CD it has live recordings between 1980 and 1981. It is an EXCELLENT,AWESOME and BRILLIANT CD with great songs which it holds up so well with timeless quality and it sounds just BRILLIANT. The line up of Mondo Rock that recorded this album with Ross Wilson,Gil Matthews(ex Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs), Paul Christie, Eric McCusker and James Black just got back together recently for a tour which celebrated 33 years when this album out. Hey Let's Go The Best Of The Cockroaches

Hey Let's Go The Best Of the Cockroaches is the compilation CD by legendary Australian 80's group the Cockroaches. In this CD it has their hit from 1987 with She's the One along with their other hits from the 80's as well as 3 live recordings as well as their other recordings from the 80's and 90's. It is AWESOME,BRILLIANT and ROCKIN with great songs and it holds up very well to this day which sounds so good and enjoyable to listen to. This group was the launching pad for 2 of the guys Jeff Fatt and Anthony Field who would go on to form the successful children's group the Wiggles and very recently the Cockroaches reunited for 2 shows in Sydney for the launching of the CD. This CD is a must for fans of Australian music fans of the 80's as well as fans of the Cockroaches and I am giving this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.

CSNY 1974

CSNY 1974 is the live album by legendary American rock group Crosby Stills Nash and Young. The CD I am reviewing is the single one as there is a 3CD and DVD set that is out as well. This live CD has recordings that was recorded during their summer tour in 1974 and they performed many of their hit singles as well as solo stuff as well as the musicians the played on the tour besides from CSNY were drummer Russell Kunkel, percussionist Joe Lala and Tim Drummond on bass. It is AWESOME,SUPERB and BRILLIANT and they sound just great on it which it is enjoyable to listen to as well as the live sound is just FANTASTIC. This live album was produced by Graham Nash and Joel Bernstein who is also an guitarist and photographer with Stephen Barncard and Elliot Mazer doing the engineering and this live went to number 17 in the USA album charts. This CD is a must for any Crosby Stills Nash and Young fan which I am giving this 5 stars and It is in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.

Vera Lynn National Treasure the Ultimate Collection

Vera Lynn National Treasure the Ultimate Collection is the new compilation double CD by legendary British singer Dame Vera Lynn. In this double CD it has her classic hits like We'll Meet Again, You'll Never Know, The White Cliffs Of Dover, A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square, Coming home, I'm Sending MY Blessings and many others as well as well as some unreleased songs as well as a new version of We'll Meet Again done by Katherine Jenkins an Welsh singer with the original recording through technology. It is EXCELLENT,SUPERB and BRILLIANT double CD with BRILLIANT songs which it holds up so well as well as great timeless and quality which sounds so good. Honest People is the new album by legendary Australian country singer-songwriter John Williamson. This album has all original songs written by John himself and all inspired by real things like the title track is inspired by John's childhood in Quambatook, What You Wish For is about Aussie singer Sara Storer and the emotional tug between family and career, Heatwave is about the shimmering heat of the Aussie landscape under conditions only too familiar to us in Summer, Song For Luke and Mel which it's about the love sadly tragically cut short but has hope that celebrate that love and hopefully heal and others. The Complete Collection is the compilation Cd by legendary Australian singer Ross D Wyllie. On this CD it has his successful hits The Star and Funny Man as well as other songs like Smile, My Little Girl, He Give US All His Love, Child's Dream as well as a song called Short Skirts which he recorded with Brisbane rock group the Escorts that was produced by Steve Neale of the legendary Brisbane rock group the Planets and other great songs. it is AWESOME,SUPERB and BRILLIANT with great songs that holds up so well to this day and it is sounds so BRILLIANTLY which it is timeless and an real great quality. Ross D Wyllie is back on the road as he has just done the Go Show Golden tour which I only saw him just last Saturday @ Jupiters and he sounded great and sang great. Bandstand Live in Australia Peter Paul and Mary

Bandstand Live In Australia is out on DVD and the artist that is on DVD is the legendary American folk trio Peter Paul and Mary. the trio's performance was filmed at the legendary Sydney Stadium which they played to a capacity crowd in 1967 and performing an 90 minute set which included their hits Blowin In the Wind, Puff the Magic Dragon, Tell It on the Mountain as well other songs like Times Are A Changin, There Is A Ship, 500 Miles, Single Girl etc as well as lively chats, audience participation and comedic interludes. It is EXCELLENT, SUPERB and BRILLIANT, very entertaining and enjoyable and is so well worth watching. It is great to see more BANDSTAND on DVD as there will be more coming out in the few months and it is great to see the Peter Paul Mary special on the DVD as it has not been seen since the broadcast all those years ago which it captures the trio at the height of their career and also let's hope for more BANDSTAND on DVD in the future if these DVD's that

the Go Show Golden @ Jupiters Casino August 16th 2014

Last night(August 16th) I went to Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast to see the show the Go Show Golden as this month is 50 years when the Australian music show The Go Show began on Channel 10 in 1964 which lasted until 1967 as it was hosted by Alan Field, Ian Turpie, Johnny Young and Ronnie Burns and this is the first time this show has come to Queensland as it has been performed mainly in Adelaide and Melbourne but they did Sydney in 2012 and Hobart a month ago as I always hoped it would come to Queensland as they were going to do Brisbane in 2012 but it was cancelled. I went to the theater before 7pm which I bought the program and the new compilation CD of Ross D Wyllie, bought a packet of chips and a Coke Zero, met John Farrar of the Strangers as well as the Shadows as well as the man wrote many of the Grease songs for Olivia Newton John and his wife singer Pat Carroll who sang with Olivia in the 60's as well as being an well known singer who appeared on the Go Show as well as

Mental As Anything and Daryl Briathwaite show @ Kedron Wavell

Last night(August 15th) I went to Kedron Wavell to see Mental As Anything and Daryl Braithwaite with my friend Kristy and it was my 6th time seeing both Mentals AS Anything who I had not seen since Friday July 8th 2011 @ Kedron Wavell and Daryl which I only saw live last year @ Kedron Wavell on Friday September 6th last year. Kristy picked me up @ my home @ 7pm, got off @ Kedron Wavell, went inside the Blue Pacific Room, drank Coke Zero and talked. The show started @ 8pm with Peter Cupples coming on Stage which he did a few songs including 2 with his group in the 70's Stylus as it was my 3rd time seeing Peter live which I had not seen him since Thursday April 19th 2007 @ Mt Gravatt Bowls Club as he performed with Jon English that night and there was a interval which I spoke with my friend Therese. Mental As Anything then came on stage with the line up including original members Greedy Smith and Martin Plaza and also has guitarist Martin Cilla who is from the legendary Australian

It was 50 years in June this year when the Beatles did their one and only Australian tour and what an impact it would change the fabric of Australian society forever as well as a lasting impact on music as well as many of the Australian groups of the 60's would be influenced by them as well as forming groups and there is a CD called Then and Now Australia Salutes the Beatles. IN this double CD it has Australian acts covering the Beatles songs from people like the Bee Gees, Little Pattie, Colleen Hewett, Johnny Young, John Farnham, The Seekers, Zoot, The Vines, Hoodoo Gurus, Jenny Morris, Marty Rhone,You AM I John Waters and many others. It is SUPERB and BRILLIANT with great songs which sounds so good and it holds up so well on CD which it is great to see the Rajahs (formerly the R'Jays who backed up Australian rocker Dig Richards for a time) on the CD too. KISS 40 is the new compilation by legendary American rock group KISS which it's celebrating 40 years when they started. In this double CD set it has the well known KISS songs as well as the 1978 solo albums by the original members as well as 3 live tracks that have been released commercially for the first time , an unreleased song called Reputation from 1977 and songs from different compilations. It is AWESOME,ROCKIN and BRILLIANT with great songs that holds up very well and it really rocks. This double CD went to number 30 in the USA,number 31 in Australia and number 55 in Spain and it has been an great year for KISS as they have been inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame which they truly deserve it as it has been an long time coming for them as well as Paul Stanley releasing his autobiography and the group are currently on tour in the USA with Def Leppard and also KISS are still touring and recording after all these years. Digger Revell Queensland Shows in November

In November this year legendary Australian singer Digger Revell known for hits in the 60's including I'm Building Castles in the Air, My Little Rockers Turned Surfie, Twilight Time etc will be performing 3 shows in Queensland and he will perform some of his hits as well as classic rock n roll, country, rockabilly and an bit of Al Jolson as well as putting on a great show which everyone enjoys and have a great time. Those who have seen Digger before you will enjoy it and tho those who have never seen Digger live GO and SEE HIM which you should enjoy the show as well as I'm sure bringing back memories for those who grew up in the 60's watching Digger with the Denvermen on Bandstand, the Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing etc as well as those who were not born in the 60's but who have an interest in it you will enjoy the experience of seeing an true icon of Australian rock n roll. The Best Of Bandstand the legendary Australian music show is out on DVD and this is volume 5 which has 11 episodes between 1960-62. In this 3 DVD set it has appearances of artists like Col Joye, Judy Stone, the Delltones, The Allen Brothers including Peter, Johnny Rebb, Lonnie Lee, Adam Faith, John Leyton, Bobby Rydell,the Dekroo Brothers, Jimmy Little, Patsy Ann Noble, Ian Turpie, Lucky Starr and many others as well as dance time spots, audience contest and specials like New Faces Special and the Country Style Show. It is SUPERB,BRILLIANT and AWESOME as well as very entertaining and so enjoyable and the footage looks excellent too. It is great to see this legendary Australian music show back on DVD again as the first 4 volumes as well as the Live Specials that were released last year were very successful and I am so glad that it is out again. Hermans Hermits @ Kedron Wavell Services Club August 8th 2014

On Friday August 8th I went to Kedron Wavell Services Club to see legendary British 60's rock group Hermans Hermits which has original member and drummer Barry Whitwam and it is their 50th Anniversary tour as it is 50 years this year when they came on the music scene with I'm Into Something Good as well as it was 10th time seeing them. I caught the bus from Cannon Hill to Chermside which I walked to Kedron Wavell, had Nachos for dinner, ate Chocolate Sundae, went inside the Blue Pacific Room, use mobile, talk with some people who were on my table, ate chip and drank Coke Zero. Hermans Hermits with the current line up of Barry. Geoff Foot, Kevan Lingard and Paul Cornwell came on stage at about 8.30pm well dressed in suits and ties and for over the next 2 hours the group performed many of the Hermans Hermits hits as well as some classic rock n roll hits as well as Barry telling the story about how they met Elvis Presley in 1965 as well as the recording of Mrs Brown You've
