A Very Vegas Christmas Show @ Twin Towns

Today I went to Twin Towns to see the show A Very Vegas Christmas show which had George Harvey from the Four Kinsmen, Brisbane singer Laura Doolan who was married to Greg Doolan from Wickety Wak until he passed away in 2017 and Rhydian Lewis as it was my 7th time seeing Laura but 1st in 10 years when I last saw her live with the Wickety Wak guys at Moreton Bay Sports Club on Saturday May 9th 2015, 2nd time seen George when he and Robert Pearson also from the Four Kinsmen joined the Wickety Wak guys at Twin Towns at the Dooley Rocks Cooley show Sunday June 10th 2012 doing Four Seasons songs and 1st time I have seen Rhydian live. Caught 2 buses from home to South Bank, caught train to Varsity Lakes, caught bus to Coolangatta,rang Dad, bought stamps at Australia Post, bought Coke With No Sugar at 7-11, drank it, walk to Twin Towns, went to the Blue Pacific Room and waited. The show started with the back up band including John on guitar and Peter on Bass guitar started off with a instrumental then George Harvey wearing the Elvis gear came on stage which he performed 2 songs, Laura Doolan came wearing an orange dress performed 2 songs including River Deep Mountain High, George came back on stage wearing an black suite and bow tie performed 1 song, Rhydian Lewis came on stage which he did 3 songs including What A Wonderful World with Laura who wore an white dress this time, Laura sang 1 song, George sang 1 song, Rhydian joined George on one song and Rhydian sang 1 song,George, Laura and pianist Debbie one song, George, Laura and Rhydian did White Christmas, George did Mary's Boy Child and George, Laura and Rhydian finished with All I Want For Christmas Is You. The show finished at 12.30pm, stopped @ Pie Shop where I bought a Pie and Coke with No Sugar, caught bus to Varsity Lakes, caught train to South Bank, Caught bus to Carindale , bought grain Chips and Coke with No Sugar from Coles, Dad picked me up and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show as well as very entertaining with Laura, George and Rhydian sounded and sang great with great humour and giving the audience an great time with the back band played great too as well as George telling stories about being in Las Vegas as well as the piano player Debbie talking about the bass player in Las Vegas playing with acts including the jackson Five. I look forward to seeing George and Laura live again in the future and if you have not seen them please do yourselves an favour and SEE THEM which you will be impressed and amazed as well as being entertained. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

Memoirs of A Piano Man by John Charter

 This is the autobiography of Australian Pianist and musician John Charter and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Kingsford (Sydney), started learning piano at age 8, playing in Australia's first rock and roll band Alan Dale and the Houserockers, playing in his own trio, forming Johnny Rebb and The Rebels with Johnny Rebb who would achieve 6 top 40 hits from 1959-60 including Hey Sheriff and Pathway To Paradise, doing the Lee Gordon tours with the Everly brothers, Fabian , The Platters and Johnny Ray, doing Bandstand and Six O'Clock Rock, working with Slim Dusty, playing in the Sydney Club  and hotel Scene , forming his own group The John Charter Group, working in Vietnam and America with Digger Revell and many others.
