Bobby Rydell show @ Kedron-Wavell

On friday went to see US 60 pop singer Bobby Rydell @ kedron-Wavell which it was my 2nd time as my first was nearly 3 years ago on Friday September 21st 2007 at Kedron-Wavell and my mum Cath had saw him in the early 60's at Festival hall. The show started with the support act the All Stars who are an group from MElbourne which the line up includes on bass Ian B Allen who is also the promoter on the tour as well and has played with the Planets an Melbourne rock group from the 60's & also Merv Benton & the Talmas and Screamy Eames who played with tony Worsley and the Blue Jays and the BLue Echoes. the All Stars were very good which they did an set of rock'n'roll songs and Screamy played great on guitar. there was an break which i bought coke zero and Bobby Rydell come on after 9pm which he was FANTASTIC & BRILLIANT as he sang his famous hits as well as the bye Bye Birdie segment and the Bobby Darin segment and also he has an very good sense of humour which he ...

JUST TONIGHT i WENT TO THE MOVIE HARRY BROWN @ BALMORAL CINEMA IN bULIMBA. Harry Brown (Sir Michael Caine) is an widower from Ireland and ex marine as well as a law abiding citzen who lives on a depressed housing estate. his best friend is Leonard Attwell(david bradley) who spends their time at an local pub owned by Sid(Liam Cunningham). Leonard is murdered by an gang of youths and HArry is compelled which he is forced to dispense his own brand of justice. The police led by DCI Frampton (emily Mortimer)are investigating the crime and it gets very interesting throughout the movie. Despite the violence and the bad language it's an Brilliant movie with an very good story. Sir Michael Caine is BRILLIANT & AWESOME as harry brown as well as Emily Mortimer, Charlie Creed Miles as dectective sergant Hicock, ben Drew as Noel Winters, Liam Cunningham as Sid, David Bradley as Leonard and others as well. Yesterday I went to see the movie Robin Hood @ Southbank Cinema. It's 1199 and Robin Longstride(russell Crowe) is an common archer and after the death of King richard the Lion heart(Danny houston son of John and half brother of Anjelica) robin & his men Alan A'dayle(alan Doyle), Little John(Kevin Dunard) and Will scarlet(scott Grimes) go back to england. meanwhile Prince John(Oscar Issac) and brother of Richard plots with Sir Godfrey(Mark Strong) to strip the northern which unbeknowist to John he is an agent to the french King and uses this royal decree to stir up enough unrest to cause the Civil War in ENgalnd. I am writing to say that the UK humourous pop group from the 60's The Barron Knights known for their hits like Call Up the Groups,Pop Go the Workers, merry gentle pops, Live In trouble etc are coming to Australia this November and they are also celebrating 50 years of their formation in Leighton in 1960. The group has one original member Pete Langford with current members Len Crawley,Mickey Groome and Lloyd Courtenay and have an new CD "50th Anniversary. Yesterday afternoon i went to the Balmoral cinema to see the movie Letters To JuLiet. Sophie Hall(amanda Seyfried) who is an fact checker @ the New Yorker is going on an pre honeymoon with Fiancee Victor(Gael Garcia Bernal) who is an would be restaurater to italy for an holiday in verona. Sophie sees an wall of letters at the house where Juliet Capulet lived saying about their loves and meets the ladies who are secratries and discovers an old letter from 1957 by an Englishwoman named Claire who left her true love Lerenzo Bartolini who who wanted to marry her. Midas Touch: the Very Best of The Hollies

Yesterday I bought the new greatest hits CD by the legendary UK 60's rock group the Hollies and this CD has been released since February 22nd in the UK and february 26th in Australia. This album went to no 23 in the UK charts and did appearences on radio and TV to promote the CD in the UK. This Double CD has 48 tracks which has their famous recordings from the 60's & 70's as well as some 80's,90's and 00's stuff including the title track from the album they recorded last year Then Now Always as well as 2 live recordings the baby and I Would Fly. it's an brilliant double CD with great stuff by the group who had many hit records in the 60's & 70's , launched the career of Graham Nash who went to Crosby Stills Nash and young and who were inducted into the Rock'n'roll hall of Fame on march 15th which they truly deserve it. It's an must for anyone who are fans of 60's music as well as fans of the Hollies and I give it 5 stars. it...

The Hollies being inducted into the Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame on March 15th this year made me think about the one and only time so far I have seen an member of the Hollies live which it was original bass player Eric Haydock with his group Eric Haydock's Hollies. I bought the ticket at Kedron-Wavell on saturday May 20th and the show was on Friday june 23rd as it was my 2nd visit to Kedron-Wavell as the first was Eric Burdon and the NEw Animals. i remember 2 days later on monday may 22nd on Good Morning Australia Eric Haydock was interviewed by bert Newton and his group did Too Young to be Married which they sounded really good. I remember friday june 23rd very well as I was at work that day at St Andrews War memorial Hospital which I had been there for 10 months at that stage as I did Thursdays & Fridays but that week I did 3 days as Vernora who was the mail lady before BETH had an sore knee amd I was really forward to the show that night. It was 10 years last month when I made my first visit to Kedron-Wavell Services and it was Eric Burdon & the New Animals. I remember it was in february 2000 when i saw it in the sunday mail and thought I would like to go and see so on Wednesday February 23rd my dad took to Kedron-Wavell where I bought my ticket. i remember the day Sunday April 9th 2000 really well as I was at Cannon Hill Presbyterian church which I went there at that stage and Ashley Strugnell (my sister Madonna's partner for 11 years and father to Tumoana and Ani) drove me to kedron-wavell in his white truck. I went to the bistro where I had roast Beef,gravy and veges for lunch, went to the blue pacific Room where i bought an poster and waited. Last saturday went to kedron-wavell to see Darren J Ray and the Love bugs doing the fabulous Sounds of the 60's show and again it was rockin & FANTASTIC as always. The line-up is diffrent as Coralie has moved to melbourne and Nicole is studying @ Uni at the moment and their spots were taken by Adelaide & cara. They did most of the same songs but did some different ones which it was very good and I love the way the Love Bugs wore their dresses as they wore UK dress when they did Satisfaction and wore Beatles shirts at the end of the show when they were doing Hey Jude and I wore an record by the fifth dimension as they were doing an music trivia and had an dance competition as well. Governor General Visits St Andrews

ON Friday May 7th, the Governor General Quinton bryce came to visit St Andrews to open the new building in the afternoon and it was an honour to see her again as it was 2 years ago when some of staff members including me visited Governement House for a cocktail to celebrated 5o years of st andrews which i met Quinton Bryce when she was the governor. ian ENgland (general manager) said words, then governor general said words as she opened the hospital, Dr Heather Watson,Nellie Dundson(nurse from 5D),Rev Bruce Johnson,richard royle and dr Michael gardner and had an afternoon tea as well as a sausage sizzle. One of the biggest thrill for me about that afternoon was that I had an photo with the governor general as well as cecli(4E) and for it was the experience that I will never ever forget as it's an once in a lifetime thing. rebecca white's 21st birthday

On may 1st, i went to my friend Rebecca white's 21st birthday at her sister Nicole's place and had an wonderful time. i have know rebecca since she was a baby as I have been friend's with her brother Billy since 1986 and still keep in touch sometimes through facebook. The night was wonderful as I had sausage,rissoles & salad for dinner and met Anne's new partner Trevor as we talked about cricket,music & tv shows as well as Maddison(rebecca's friend) and also I said a speech about rebecca. Saw Billy as we talk about as usual stuff like tv shows & others and saw duane his cousin whom i have known since 1986 and it was an wonderful night. met Nicole's partner Steven as well and Russell took me home as nicole took me there.

Last year Us singer ANdy Williams known for hits like Butterfly, Moon River, Love story and hosting the variety show the Andy Williams Show from 1962-71 released his autobiography called "Moon River and Me" and tells the story of his career from the time he started singing with his brothers in the Williams Brothers through his recording career of having the hit records that he would have and talks about his first marriage as well as his tv show that would launch the career of the Osmonds(US singing group in the 70's)and others. it's an excellent book to read and he tells it very well as he too talks about the people he worked with like Frank Sinatra,Kay thompson, Henry Mancini,Lauren BAcall,Elvis Presley,Bing Crosby,John Lennon,JAck lemmon,judy garland etc and he is still going strong at 82 still singing @ his own Moon River Theatre. I give it 4 stars and it's in the book shops now

On friday I went to see the Australian comedy movie I love You Too. Jim (brendon Cromwell) is in a relationship with girl friend Alice(Yvonne Strahovski) and jim lives in a bungalow at the back of his family's home and works in a minoature railway. An Month ago ,the 4 DVD set "British Invasion" was released which has 4 DVD's and it's about 4 British music icons of the 60's-Dusty Springfield,gerry and the Pacemakers,Hermans Hermits and the small faces. The dusty springfield one has an interview with dusty in 1978 and another one from 1970 as well as interviews with back-up singers Madeline Bell and Simon Bell and Burt Bacharach as well as execellent clips some never been seen before including some from Brian Henderson's Bandstand.
