No Pier Pressure is the new album by legendary American singer-songwriter as well as a founding member of the legendary American rock n roll group the Beach Boys Brian Wilson. Tom Jones Live In Australia

In 1966 Welsh singer Tom Jones with the Squires toured Australia and New Zealand with English group Hermans Hermits and he did a TV special on Channel 9 which was recorded live in Sydney called the Hilton Special which it is now released on DVD. On this live DVD Tom Jones performed many of the classic songs like It's Not Unusual, Thunderball, What's New Pussycat, Chills and Fever and many others. It is an FANTASTIC, AWESOME and BRILLIANT DVD and the picture quality looks excellent which it is great to see the show on this DVD as well as seeing great stuff coming out from Channel 9 with the help from Umbrella Entertainment. Tom Jones has sold over 100 million records as well as recording hit songs in almost every genre from pop,rock, R&B, Show tunes, dance,country,soul and gospel and he is still going strong after 50 years when he came on the scene. This DVD is a must for Tom Jones fans and I am giving this 5 stars which it's in the shops so do yourself a favour and BUY

Smokie Gold 40th Anniversary Edition DVD is an definitive anthology DVD and on this 3 DVD set it has footage of the official video clips of the hit singles as well as footage from TV pop shows like Disco, Top Of the Pops, Crackerjack, Countdown, Old Grey Whistle Test, Supersonic and many others as well as interviews and documentaries as well as live shows including East Berlin in 1976 and Sofia in 1983 and others. It is AWESOME,BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AWESOME stuff on it which it is great to see and it looks so AWESOME too.Uri Twelker who did the liner notes for the Gold CD does the liner notes for the DVD and it is carefully restored and remastered which it is a job well done. Smokie are still touring with original member Terry Uttley as well as recording and after 40 years since their first hit single still going strong. This DVD is a must for any Smokie fans as well as 70's music fans and I give this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.

Russell Morris @ Wynnum RSL Club

On Sunday April 19th I went to Wynnum RSL to see legendary Australian singer-songwriter Russell Morris and it was my 12th time seeing him live as it's 15 years this year when I saw Russell live. I caught the train from Cannon Hill to Wynnum Central, walk to Wynnum RSL, rang home, I ate chips,drank Coke Zero, went upstairs to the Main Room and saw an lady I knew from Angus and Robertson Bookworld @ Cannon Hill which we spoke for a while wqhich I met her sister. The show started @ 4.30pm with Russell Morris and his band coming on stage which he did the 1 set and for an hour and an half he performed songs from both Sharkmouth and Van Diemins Land albums as well as doing his classic hits from the 60's and 70's as well as telling stories about the inspirations behind the songs as well as having an great sense of humor. The show finished @ 6pm which he finished off with his version of the Beatles song Please Please Me and he did'nt have stuff on sale after the show as well

Hermans Hermits Australian tour 2015

In August-September this year legendary British 60's group Hermans Hermits known for hits like I'm Into Something Good, Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter, I'm Henry the Eighth I Am, A Must To Avoid, My Sentimental Friend, Sleepy Joe, There's A Kind OF Hush, No Milk Today and many others will be touring Australia and they will play in Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and NSW. the Avengers @ Easts Leagues Club

Last Friday April 10th I went to see the legendary Brisbane group the Avengers which it was my 24th time seeing them as well as my second time this year. My Dad dropped at the club, went to the restaurant which I had steak, chips and salad for lunch, ate Chocolate Crunch and waited. The show started @ 7.30pm which for the next 4 hours they did 4 sets of classic rock and pop songs by people like the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, Cliff Richard, The Four Seasons, Queen, The Eagles and many others and besides from seeing the guys which I said hello to them as well as having a conversation with Graeme,Garth and Mick as well as Laura(Paul's Wife) I saw Maggie and Lorraine who I know from the gigs and also Paul told some jokes in the last set too which was interesting. The show finished @ 11.30pm which I thanked the guys, Dad picked me up and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which everyone had a great time including myself and the group

Chicago Live in 75

In 1975 after releasing their 8th album Chicago VIII which went gold for the 8th time consecutively the American rock group Chicago did an stadium tour of America with the Beach Boys and at the capital Centre in Largo Maryland on June 24th-26th 1975 that it was recorded live but it was unreleased until 2011 when it was released as a limited edition and it now has a general release as it was released here in Australia an month ago. On this live double CD they performed many of their hits at that time including 25 or 6 To 4, Make Me Smile,Feelin Stronger Every Day, Beginnings, Colour My World and others as well as their version of the Beatles song Got to Get You Into My Life. It is an FANTASTIC and an BRILLIANT live CD with great songs and the group were at their peak at that time which they sounded great on it. Kevin John the Ultimate Collection is the double CD by legendary Australian singer-Songwriter Kevin Johnson. In this double CD it has many of his classic songs including Bonnie Please Don't Go as well as the big hit from Rock n Roll I gave You The Best Years Of My Life from 1973 as well as other songs like New York, Man Of the 20th Century,Kedron Brook and many others. It's an excellent double Cd with excellent songs which sounds so good and it holds up so well to this day. Kevin Johnson has just done a show a month ago in sydney and is working on a new collection of songs. Austin Powell did the liner notes for this CD and it's great to see his music on CD again as well as I hope he gets more recognition as he should have as he's made a impact on Australian music. This double CD is a must for Australian music fans and I give this 4 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.

Harry Vanda and George Young the Official Songbook is a CD that was released back in January and it has the classic songs written by Vanda and Young which were recorded from the 60's,70's and 80's by acts like the Easybeats, John Paul Young, Stevie Wright, Cheetah, Flash and the Pan and many others. It is a FANTASTIC and an BRILLIANT CD with FANTASTIC songs which holds up so well to the this day as well as still sounding great too. John Tait who wrote the biography about Vanda and Young did the liner notes and it is 50 years when Vanda and Young emerged on the scene with the Easybeats with She's So Fine as well as 49 years when they wrote Friday On Mind which it's a great Australian classic song. This CD is a must for Australian music fans which I give it 4 and a half stars and it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.

Girl In A Band is the autobiography of American musician and founding member of American rock group Sonic Youth Kim Gordon. In this book she talks about her growing up in California having been born in New York, growing up with a mentally ill sibling, going to Canada where she she briefly studied @ York University in Toronto as well as forming her first band called Below the Belt, going to New York where she became fascinated by the no wave bands, formed another band called Introjection with 2 other ladies, meeting Thurston Moore with whom with along Lee Renaldo formed the rock group Sonic Youth in 1981 which would last for 30 years as well as influenced acts like Nirvana as well as inspiring the Riot Girl generation, her marriage to Thurston Moore which they would have a daughter together which lasted also until 2011 and many others. It is an excellent book with excellent stories which I enjoyed reading it and Kim Gordon performed in another band called Body/Head as well as involved

Sunbury 73

Sunbury 73 was the follow up to the Sunbury 72 which was held during Australia Day week for 3 days in 1973 which rocked out to about 40,000 fans who were soaked up the atmosphere and performances which were provided by some of the great Australians acts of the era and some of the performances from the festival were shown on TV in that year on Channel 9 called Sunbury 73 which was hosted by former Kommotion host and disc jockey Ken Sparkes and this special is on DVD now. This special was directed by Peter Faiman which has an interview with John Fowler an promoter and it has performances by acts like Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, Ross Ryan, Mississippi which included Beeb Birtles and Graeme Goble and Johnny O'Keefe. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with great stuff on it and the picture quality looks excellent. Stevenson Street @ Carina Leagues Club

Last Saturday March 28th I went to Carina Leagues CLub to see Stevenson Street which it was my first seeing time seeing them and that group has local country singer Casey Watt who sings around Brisbane which I had seen her plenty of times since May 2007 mainly @ Moreton Bay Sports CLub but had not seen her live since Sunday August 21st 2011 @ Carina Leagues Club. Dad took me to the club, had Beef Nachos for dinner, had a Coke to drink, had Chocolate Sundae for desert, did writing, had a look at magazine and waited. The show started @ 8pm with Stevenson Street coming on stage which they did 3 sets for the next 3 and an half hours performing songs by acts like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles, Elvis Presley, Paul Kelly, Anne Murray, Mental As Anything, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Rolling Stones, Sinead O'Connor and many others with Casey doing the lead vocals as well as her husband Chris who did some lead vocals as well and I got to meet Chris when they had the first break when I saw
