the Motown Concert

On tuesday february 23rd I along with tara Marshall an nurse I work with @ St ANdrews War memorial Hospital, Peter White and his parents Robyn and Barry, Francis Roiter with his mum Shirley, Pip MacLurkin with her dad Tom and Leisa Keast with her mum Chris and another lady and it was an awesome & FANTASTIC show. I have been an fan of Motown since 1996 and it's an been an dream of mine to go and see some of the Motown acts which i saw the news last year that the motown show was coming to Brisbane I knew I had to go and see it particuarly seeing the Temptations, Four tops, the Miracles, Martha Reeves and Mary Wilson as well as Jimmy barnes and Ian Moss. Peter's parents bought our tickets which they paid it for group bookings and tara asked me if she would like to come with me to the motown show which luckily they had an spear ticket. on the night tara and i had dinner in the valley and stop @ maccas for desert and got to the entertainment centre with about half hour to spear.

On friday February 19th I went to balmoral Cinema to see the movie Crazy heart an musical drama. Bad Blake(Jeff Bridges) who is an down and out country singer-songwriter who has an drinking problem is playing one nights stands in small town bars in Southwestern USA and has failed marriages as not seeing his son for 24 years. he is on the road all the time staying in cheap motels, traveling in the car alone and tends to stay up watching sleazy tv. Journalist Jean Craddock(maggie Gyllenhaal) who has an 4 year old son Buddy(jack nation) and is divorced interviews Bad for a story which they enter into an relationship and they become the catalyst in Bad to getting his life back on track. Tommy Sweet(Colin Farrell) an successful and popular country singer renews an relationship with Bad who was an student and is one an opening act @ one of tommy's concerts. the relationship between Jean & Bad helps him to rethink his life and it's gets very interesting. Awesome and brilliant act

Valentine's Day

On February 13th went to balmoral cinema to see the Movie Valentine's day. it's follows the lives of a number of couples during this special day.Kate Hazletine(julia Roberts) an Army captain who is on an 1 day leave meets Howard Bristow(brad Cooper) on the plane going to Los Angeles. Tooth Fairy

On january 31st went to see the movie tooth fairy at carindale cinema. derek thompson(dwayne johnson) is an minor league hockey leagues player whose nick namr is the tooth fairy because he hits opposing players so hard that he knocks their tooth out. he has an girlfriend named Carly(Ashley Judd) who has 2 children Tess(destiny Whitlock) and Randy(Chase Ellison) which he is friendly with Tess and not an easy one with Randy. he's been saying that dreams are bad and no such thing as a tooth fairies and late one night he recieves an summons which he goes to fairy land where he meets Tracy(Stephen merchant) and head fairy Lily(Julie ANdrews). He is sentenced to serve 2 weeks as a tooth fairy and the next night he meets Jerry(Billy Crystal)who gives the things that is needed like shrinking paste,invisble spray,amensia dust,cat away and mints that barks like a dog and it leads to whacky and interesting adventures. INVICTUS

On january 23rd I went to Carindale Cinema to see the film Invictus. Nelson Mandela(Morgan Freeman in his Oscar Nominated role) is released from in 1990 after serving 26 years in jail and 4 years later is elected President Of South Africa which he pledging to unite the south african people and would see the end of the aparthied. He attends an Springboks game against England which non white SOuth Africans are cheering against the home team and their name,history and even colours mean prejudice and aparthied. Knowing that the country is hosting the 1995 World Cup in a year's time, mandela has an meeting the South African Sports Committee telling them not to change the springboks team, name and colour and meets the captain Francis Pienaar(matt Damon). Even though Mandela does;nt tell his true meaning during that meeting Pienaar understands beneath the surface and if the team can gain support of non white south africans and succeed in the World Cup south africa will be unified and ins

the searchers concert @ Kedron-Wavell January 22nd 2010

On Friday january 22nd 2010, I went to see the UK 60's rock group the Searchers @ Kedron-Wavell which it was rockin and FANTASTIC and it was my 6th time seeing the group which they get better and better every time they come here. the line-up of the group were john McNally(original member since 1959) on guitar and vocals, Frank Allen (member since August 3rd 1964 on bass and vocals), Spencer james member since 1985 on guitar and lead vocals and Eddie Rothe member since 1998 on drums and this tour was his last tour with the group as he's left the group to spend more time with his fiancee Jane McDonald and the replacement is Scott Ottaway. The show was just ROCKIN & FANTASTIC which the group did most of their famous hits as well as some album tracks and other old rock songs and had very good and cheeky sense of humour mainly By Frank Allen and John McNally as well as some stories about the past which it's very impressive including mention their very 1st Australian tour in

On January 16th went to see the It's Complicated @ South Bank Cinema. Jane Alder(meryl Streep) who is a divorcee who owns an bakery business. She has 3 children and is finally good friends with ex Husband Jake (alec Baldwin) who is an successful attorney and is re-married to Agness(Lake Bell). they attend their son Luke's(hunter Parrish) graduation and jake and jane have dinner together which leads to an affair. The children don't know about their affair evenb though harley(John Krasinski0) who is engaged to Lauren(catlin Fitzgerald) spotted them at a hotel and keeps silent. Jane meets an architect named Adam(Steve Martin) who is a divorcee himself and falls in love with Jane which makes it Complicated. It's very good and very funny. Very Good acting by Mery Streep,Steve Martin,Alec Baldwin, Lake Bell,John Kranskio, Rita Wilson who plays one of Janes' friend) and many others. I gave it 4 and a half stars

Bran Nau Dae

On friday january 15th went to see the movie Bran Nae Dae at the Myer Centre. it's set in Broome,Western Australia in 1969 and it's about an young Aboriginal boy named Will(Rocky McKenzie) who has an liking for singer Rosie(jessica mauboy) and is studying to be a priest at boarding school and one night he and other friends are caught for stealing food in the college kitchen which Willie admits that he was the thief but runs away before being punished. He meets up with his Uncle Tadpole(ernie Dingo) which they go to Fremantle and Tadpole is nearly run over which they meet 2 hippies Annie(Missy Higgins) and Slippery(tom Budge) while Father Bendeictus(Geoffrey Rush) who sees Willie's potential and determines to locate him and also it's get very interesting which secrets about certain characters are revealed. it's an very good film, acting is very good with top performances by ROcky mckenzie, jessica Mauboy,ernie dingo, Geoffrey Rush, Debroah mailman who plays ROxanne,

Nowhere Boy

On Saturday january 9th I went to Dendy Cinema in the city on Caxton Street to see the movie Nowhere Boy and it's about John Lennon's boyhood and growing up years in Liverpool. Aaron Johnson plays John lennon who is living with with his aunt Mimi(Kristen Scott Thomas) and Uncle George(david threlfall) and george passes away. His mother Julia(anne marie duff) comes back into his life after living with Mimi at age 5 and getting into rock'n'roll music as he yearns for a normal life. He meets Paul mccartney(Thomas Sangster) who with Eric Griffths(Jack McElhone) & Pete Shotton(josh Bolt) form the group the Quarrymen who would eventually would become 3 years later The Beatles and as he is getting into his new life there is secrets about John's past which leads into tragedy which he would never escape. Aaron Johnson did an excellent performance as John Lennon as well as Kristen Scott Thomas as Mimi, Anne Marie Duff as Julia, THomas Sangster as Paul mcCartney, sam Bel
