This is the autobiography of former Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and in the book talks about her upbringing in the south western suburbs of Brisbane, studied @ UQ, joining the Young Labour Movement, becoming an MP for Inala, served in the Bligh Government as minister for disability services and multicultral affairs and minister for Transport, becoming Labour leader in 2012, her 2 marriages, becoming Premier of Queensland in 2015 which would last 8 years as among the events that happended during her time as Premier including COVID pandemic, the floods in 2022 and Brisbane winning the bid to host the Olympics in 2032 and many others. It's AWESOME, AMAZING, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth a read. A Book Desi Arnaz

In 1976 iconic Cuban American Musician, Bandleader, Actor and Producer Desi Arnaz released his autobiography A Book and in it he talked about his upbringing in Cuba, fled to Miami after the Cuban , played in Siboney Septet, got hired by American musician and Bandleader Xavier Cugat for his touring orchestra which led him to have his own band the Desi Arnaz Orchestra, made his first movie Too Many Girls, his marriage to Lucille Ball in 1940 which would last until 1960 which they would have 2 children Lucie and Desi Jr, doing the TV Show I Love Lucy, forming the production company Desilu and many others and in this expanded edition of the book which it's out now it has material that was from the second memoir which was uncompleted and never published with daughter Lucie doing the afterword and granddaughter Kate Luckinbill(Lucie's daughter) doing the foreword. This is the autobiography of British musician and member of the legendary British rock band The Smiths Mike Joyce and in the book he talks about his upbringing in Manchester, getting his first drum at 14, played in bands the Hoax and Victim, joined the band The Smiths in 1982 which would last until 1987 as well as releasing 4 albums as well as the singles including Hand In Glove, This Charming Man and How Soon Is Now, the touring and many others. It's FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth a read. Mike Joyce is now an DJ presenting radio shows and is currently doing a book tour of Ireland until this Monday. This is a must for 80's music fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is the memior of American actress Eve Plumb and in the book she talks about her getting discovered by a talent agent who was an neighbour, doing commercials, doing guest roles on TV including Family Affair, The Big Valley and Lassie, getting the role of Jan Brady on the iconic American TV show the Brady Bunch which was on from 1969-74 as well as the reunion show except one, doing TV movies including Dawn Portrait of a Teenage Runaway and Little Women, her 2 marriages, working with Florence Henderson, Robert Reed, Susan Dey, Lucille Ball and many others. It's a FANTASTIC book with AMAZING and Brilliant stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth a read. Freedom Suzi Quatro

This is the new album legendary American British singer and bass guitarist Suzi Quatro and this was recorded at Butterfly Studio which most of the songs are written by Suzi and her son Richard who also produced the album and played guitar as well as one they wrote with Noah Booth and 2 covers including Kick Out The Jams an cover of the MC5 song which she did it with Alice Cooper and also besides from her son Richard the other musicians playing on it including Jaz Davies and Tim Aves. It's an FANTASTIC album with great songs which it still rocks and Suzi is still playing and sounding great at the age of 75 (76 on Wednesday). Suzi is doing shows in Europe throughout and let's hope she comes back to Australia again as she was only here late last year. It's a must for Suzi Quatro fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Everly Brothers and Roy Orbison Show @ Redland Performing Arts Centre

Yesterday afternoon I went to the Redland Performing Arts Centre seeing the Robertson Brothers and Dean Bourne doing the Everly Brothers and Roy Orbison show as it was my second time seeing the Robertson Brothers as I saw the at Redland a year ago when they did the 60's with Cosima De Vito and Simon Brook McLachlan. I caught the bus from Carindale to Cleveland, walk to Redland Performing Arts Centre, rang Dad, bought $50 Pack which had CD's towel and USB, went inside and waited. The show began after 2pm with intro by Bobby Lee Dean Bourne starts off with Ooby Dooby and the Robertson Brothers came on stage doing the Everly Brothers classics from the 50's and early 60's which they were backed up by the guitarist Dieter and the online orchestra and the bassist, pianist and drummer as well as doing songs by the acts who were influenced by the Everly brothers including Simon and Garfunkel and the Beatles and Dean came back doing a few more Roy Orbison from the early 60...

Wild At Heart Neil Diamond

This is the new album by legendary American singer-songwriter Neil Diamond and it was recorded in Los Angeles at the ArchAngel Recording Studio in 2007 during the sessions of the album that Neil Diamond made with Rick Rubin Home Before Dark which among the musicians that played on the album were 2 members of the legendary American rock band Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench as well as Rick Rubin produced this album as well which the songs on album are written by Neil Diamond. It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs and great singing by Neil and it went to number 29 in Australia, number 61 in the UK, number 2 in the UK Americana Album charts and number 10 in the Top Album Sales in the US. It is great to see the interest in Neil Diamond still there with the movie Song Sung Blue as well as the musical A Beautiful Noise which will be happening in Australia during the year. Queen II by Queen

On March 8th 1974 iconic British rock band Queen released their second album Queen II which it went to number 5 in the UK, number 49 in the USA and number 79 in Australia and from the album it had the one hit single Seven Seas Of Rhye and also it is now out on CD which I am reviewing the double CD edition as there is an 5 CD/2LP edition. On the first CD it has the original album tracks that was on the album and on the second CD it has different takes of some of the songs as well as recordings from 1969. It is an FANTASTIC double album with FANTASTIC songs as well as hearing the different takes which it's amazing to hear different versions of songs that would be different to the one that was on the album and the reissued album has gone to number 7 in Austria and Germany, number 10 in Belgium and number 6 in Croatia. This is the autobiography of the iconic British music legend Petula Clark which is now out on paperback and in the book she talks about her upbringing in London and Wales, starting singing as a child, started performing on the BBC, doing movies including I Know Where I'm Going, Dance Hall, Finian's Rainbow and Goodbye Mr Chips, losing her mother, began recording in the UK as well as recording in French, German, Italian and Spanish which had UK hits including Sailor,Romeo and The Little Shoemaker, achieving American hits including Downtown, I Know A Place, My Love and This is My Song, her marriage to Claude Wollf which lasted until his passing in 2024, working with Tony Hatch, Harry Belafonte, Anthony Newley, Fred Astaire, Peter O'Toole and many others. This is the new album by the iconic music legend Ringo Starr and it was recorded in Nashville Tenneessee and Los Angeles California with the songs on the album were mainly written by T Bone Burnett who also produced the album as well as 3 written by Ringo and also among the musicians and singer who were on the album including Sheryl Crow, Paul Franklin who played with Barbara Mandrell, Billy Strings and Patrick Warren. It is an FANTASTIC album with FANTASTIC songs with great singing by Ringo who still sounding great at age 85 and sounding better than ever. The album went to number 85 in the UK, number 2 in both the UK Americana and Country album charts, number 15 in the USA Americana/Folk albums charts, number 9 in the USA Top Albums Sales charts and number 40 in the USA Top Country Albums charts and Ringo with the All Star Band will be touring America next Thursday until June. One Of These Nights The Eagles

On June 10th 1975 the album One of These Nights by the iconic American rock band the Eagles was released which it went to number 1 in the USA, number 8 in the UK and number 5 in Australia which it was recorded at the Record Plant in Los Angeles California and Criteria Studios in Miami and from the album had the 3 hit singles the title track One Of These Nights, Lyin Eyes and Take It To The Limit with Randy Meisner on lead vocals and also it was the last album for original member Bernie Leadon who left the band which he was replaced by Joe Walsh and also it is now out on CD as an 3 CD set. On the first CD it has the original tracks that was on the album and the CD 2 and 3 the bonus tracks are the live recordings that was at Anaheim Stadium on September 28th 1975 which Joe Walsh who would become a member joining them on stage. This is from the Telegraph May 21st 1963 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane which has gone new ownership by Tapt Media 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time inthw 60's which among their shows was the Top 40 Breakfast Show which was hosted by Johnny James who had been with the station since the 50's as he would be there until the early 70's which on his show there was a competition when if the listener was smart you can beat the clock and win a fiver.

This is from the Telegraph May 18th 1962 and now the talk back station as it is the commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who had been with the station since 1957 was on Monday to Friday at 4.30pm doing Streamline, Monday to Friday from 8.30pm doing Sound of Music and on Sundays at 9am doing the Super 70 playing the latest records at the time.

This is from the Telegraph May 17th 1963 and until 1990 when it became B105 4BK was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were Bill O'Brien who had been with 4KQ for a time and Peter McIntyre who on Monday May 20th 1963 did the Greater Top Forty show which was on Monday to Friday from 2pm until 5pm playing the songs that was in the top 40 which it was a big thing at the time.

The Sheep Detectives

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale where I saw the movie The Sheep Detectives. George Hardy (Hugh Jackman) is a shepherd in Denbrook who loves to read murder mysteries to his sheep and then he is found dead which the sheep start to solve the crime as well as George's daughter Rebecca(Molly Gordon) coming on the scene as well as his lawyer Lydia(Emma Thompson) who reads the will and then it gets very interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with excellent acting by Hugh Jackman, Emma Thompson, Molly Gordon, Nicholas Braun, Nicholas Galitzine, Julia Louis-Dryfus, Bryan Cranston and Patrick Stewart. It was directed by Kyle Balda and produced by Lindsay Doran, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. It is a feel good comedy and it is well worth seeing. I give it 4 stars as it's in the cinemas now and please do yourselves a favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is from the Telegraph May 16th 1958 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane in 2026 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 1950's which they were an music station even back then which on the Saturday May 17th they did the 50 Top Tunes show which would every Saturday at the time between 5.30am until 9am playing the best selling 50 songs of the day.

The only new entry in the charts that week was Ottowen at number 29 with Hands Up and besides from Jo Kennedy the other Australian acts as well as New Zealand acts in the charts that week were Cold Chisel at number 5 with Forever Now, Split Enz at number 11 with Dirty Creature, Men At Work at number 12 with Be Good Johnny, Moving Pictures at number 13 with the iconic What About Me and Richard Clapton at number 35 with I Am An Island

This is from the Telegraph May 7th 1954 and long before known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits station as well as for a time in the 80's as a country music station 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 50's which their programs that was on that night were Les Richmond at Wurlitzer organ at 7.30pm, Dr Evatt's speech at the City Hall at 8pm, Brickbats and Banquets at 9pm and Western Hit Parade at 9.15pm.

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the movie The Devil Wears Prada 2 which it's the sequel to the Devil Wears Prada that was out 20 years ago, Andy Sacks(anne Hathaway) who is now a journalist for the New York Vanguard loses her job during an awards ceremony by a text and returns to Runway which she is hired by Irv Ravitz(Tibor Feldman) who is the chairman of Runway as well as the owner of ELias Clarke Publishing House while Miranda (Meryl Streep) is under fire and Andy, Miranda and Nigel (Stanley Tucci) go to Dior where they encounter ex Runway staff member Emily (Emily Blunt). Andy is writing articles for Runway which she wants to interview Sasha Barnes(Lucy Liu) who was the wife of Benji(Justin Therox) who is going out with Emily which she does the interview and also Andy gets friendly with Peter(Patrick Bramall) and also Irv's son Jay(B.J Novak) takes over when Irv passes away which he wants to make changes and Nigel, Miranda and Andy go to Milan f...

This is from the Queensland Times Ipswich May 3rd 1968 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB which it is now Radio TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 60's which it was originally based in Ipswich for many years before making an impact in Brisbane and besides from being a music station it also promoted shows which on May 8th 1968 there was a show at the Wintergarden Theatre in Ipswich called Clark Shoes Groovy World from 10.30am until 12pm with Brisbane acts The Avengers, the Escort, Jon Blanchfield, Tony Worsley and the Swinging Sound Guys.
