Toy Story 5

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale where I saw the movie Toy Story 5. Bonnie (Scarlett Spears) is struggling to make friends so she gets a tablet from her parents which it's named Lilypad (Greta Lee) which she starts to neglect her toys as Jessie(Joan Cusack) who has been the sheriff of Bonnie's since Woody(Tom Hanks) departed has becoming aware that the techs like ipad, mobile phones and computer were the thing as toys becoming old school and Jessie gets in touch with Woody to help him which he gets back with the other toys which Jessie and Bullseye were taken to a house which was once occupied by Emily who had her where an girl called Blaze (Mykal Michelle Harris) lives with her parents and then it gets interesting. It is excellent, very impressive and very entertaining with great acting by Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Scarlett Spears, Mykal Michelle Harris, Conan O'Brien and Greta Lee and it's directed by Andrew Stanton who also did the scre...

Where Do You Come From by Vika and Linda

This is the new album by the Australian sister singing duo Vika and Linda and this was recorded at Merrigum Studios in Melbourne April 2025 which 6 tracks on the album are written by Vika and Linda including some they write with Mark Seymour from Hunters and Collectors as well as Karen Jacobsen and Toni Childs as well as other songs are written by Glenn Richards from the Australian band Augie March and Ben Bliss. It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs and great singing by Vika and Linda who sounded so great album on the album and also they along with Cameron Bruce who played on the album produced it too. It went to number 11 in Australia and they are doing an tour. They have just been inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame which they truly deserve it for the impact they have made on Australia and let's hope for the Black Sorrows to be inducted. This is from the Telegraph June 16th 1959 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations in the 1950's which among their disc jockeys were Bert (Birdbrain) Robertson who had been with the station since 1954 and would last until the early 70's was on Monday to Friday at 11.15am doing the Cuppa Club and Geoff Atkinson who was an part of the station's success in the 50's and 60's did the show Shell Dealer Parade Tuesdays to Saturdays from 11pm until Midnight.

This is from the Telegraph June 15th 1966(60 Years ago today) and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Johnny James who had been with the station since the 50's which he would last until the early 70's did the Top 40 Breakfast Show daily playing the latest records that was out at the time.

This is from the Telegraph June 12th 1963 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane in 2026 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Jim Sweeney who did the World Wide Top 40 Breakfast Show which was on Monday to Saturday from 5am until 8am with the news every 30 minutes as well as the music that was played at the time.

This is from the Telegraph June 11th 1958 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 1950's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who would become the station's success in the 50's and 60's hosted the show So Smooth which was on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 9pm playing the music that really has charms.

This is from the Telegraph June 10th 1964 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which they were promoting the Beatles' Australian tour which was happening in that month (June) 1964 which would include Brisbane at the Festival Hall on June 29th and 30th and Sydney disc jockey Bob Rogers was travelling with them on the tour was reporting it to 4BC which they were 10 reports daily.

The Joe Cocker Express @ The Elvis Precinct

On Sunday June 7th I went to the Elvis Precinct to see the Joe Cocker Express who are from the Gold Coast and it was my first time seeing them live. The show started at 12.30pm with the Joe Cocker Express coming on stage which in the first set included the hits from the 80's including Up Where We Belong which Jason sang it with Bec and Leave Your Hat On and even doing the INXS song as well as each band member telling a story about Joe Cocker including one story about his mother doing washing and discovering a cheque in one of his clothes as well as being in Australia in 1972 and in the second set wore the hippy gear as well as singing the big classic hits including Delta Lady, Feelin Alright, You Are So Beautiful and of course the iconic With A Little Help From My Friends and also I met a lady named Laura, her mother Debra and an lady named Michelle. Hey Get Rhythm @ Twin Towns

On Saturday night June 6th I went to Twin Towns to see the tribute show to iconic American country singers Johnny Cash and June Carter called Hey Get Rhythm which has Mark Caliguri and his wife Joanne and it was my first time seeing the show. The show started at 8pm which Mark and Joanne coming out as they did 2 sets which in the first set performed Johnny's early hits in the 50's as well as June's songs including Juke Box Blues which some of the audience members came on stage and wore hats as well as for some songs Robert on horn came on stage as well as showing clips of Johnny and June on the screen both sides of the stage and there was a interval where I had a Pepsi Max and Boost chocolate. In the second set Mark and Joanne came back on stage which they did the songs of the 60's and 70's as well as one of Johnny's recordings in the 2000's and George an keyboardist joined the band on stage as well as an audience member came on stage when they were doing t...

On Saturday afternoon I went to the Elvis Precinct to see the Bee Gees Revival Tribute Show and they are from Melbourne which it was my first time seeing them. The show started at 12.30pm with Roy Kossena(Barry), Phil Splitter (Robin) and AJ Leonard(Maurice) coming out on stage which in the first set starting off with Alone from Still Waters and then going through the 60's with Massachusetts and to Love Somebody as well as the early 70's as their 1987 hit You Win Again and there was an interval which I took 2 photos. The second set had Roy, Phil and AJ came back on stage which they wore black and white gear as they performed 2 of their 60's hits as well as their 70's hits including How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, Staying Alive as well as the Andy Gibb hit Shadow Dancing and some of the audience got up to dance during the set enjoying themselves. On Friday night June 5th I went to Twin Towns to see the Fabulous Caprettos which it was my first time seeing the act and it had Australian singers Wendy Matthews, Dave Gleeson from the Screaming Jets and the Angels, Rai Thistlewayte from Thirsty Merc and an appearance by Russell Morris as Joe Camilleri from Jo Jo Zep and the Falcons and the Black Sorrows was supposed to be there but he wasn't well which was the reason. The show started at 8pm with Jason Ayres who is an singer-songwriter in Perth came on which he did an set of mainly his own songs as well as an cover of the Chris Issak song Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing and there was an interval. The Fabulous Caprettos with Rai Thistlewayte, Wendy Matthews and Dave Gleeson came on stage which Wendy started it off with her 90's hit Let's Kiss, Dave sang his song, Rai sang his song from Thirsty Merc Someday Someday and Russell Morris singing of 2 of his hits and got off stage for a while which Wendy, Dave and Rai performed thei...

Elvis Live At The Garden at Elvis Precinct

On Friday afternoon June 5th I went to the Elvis Precinct to see the Elvis tribute show Elvis Live At the Garden that had Jimmy Holmes who I had seen 3 years before and Taylor Rodriguez which was my first time seeing him and they were the songs Elvis performed at Madison Square Garden in 1972. The show started after 5pm with Dean Vegas who is an Elvis tribute performer himself did the compering introducing the acts which Jimmy Holmes came on first starting off with That's Alright Mama as well as other songs including Never Been To Spain, Love Me, Heartbreak Hotel and Love Me Tender which he finished his segment and then Taylor came on which he did Polk Salad Annie and performed other songs including Funny How Time Slips Away, Suspcious Minds, American Trilogy which Jimmy came back on stage and ended it with Can't Help Falling In Love. Issi Dye @ Greenmount Surf Club

On Thursday night I went to Greenmount Surf Club to see legendary Australian singer Issi Dye. Issi with Andrea and Peter came on stage which started just before 7pm which in the first set performed songs by Johnny Cash, Bobby Darin, The Everly Brothers and Elvis Presley as well as Peter sang some songs as well as Andrea singing some too and also for part of that 1st set that I had Pork Ribs, Chips and Salad for dinner. There was an interval and in the second set Issi, Andrea and Peter came back on which they performed songs by Johnny O'Keefe, the Monkees, Ricky Nelson, Olivia Newton John and Chuck Berry as well as Terry Leonard who is an Elvis tribute peformer joined Issi on stage for 2 songs and also saw Les who worked with Issi as well as Tyler and Leanne who are engaged. The show finished at 9pm which I saw Issi and got an photo with him, went to Woolworths where I bought groceries and walk back to Twin Towns Mantra. This is from the Telegraph June 3rd 1966(60 Years Ago today) and now the classic hits here in Brisbane in 2026 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys were John Daley, Bill Gates who was the one who gave the Bee Gees their name as well as doing the record hops including the O'Connor Boathouse in the City and Grahame Cherry who went on to work on 4KQ and 4BK were on Monday to Friday from 4pm until midnight and all day Saturday and Sunday.

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo where I saw the movie Power Ballad. Rick Power (Paul Rudd) an American who lives in Ireland with his wife Rachel(Marcella Plunkett) and daughter Arja(Beth Fallon) sings in an band called the Bride and the Groove who performs at weddings and at one wedding Danny Wilson(Nick Jonas) who had been in a well known boyband called Impossible joins the band on stage singing I Wish the Stevie Wonder song which everyone enjoyed it and Rick and Danny connect which they work on a song Rick wrote called How to Write A Song (without You) which Danny eventually records it when he gets back to Los Angeles and 6 Months later while shopping Rick hears the song recorded by Danny which he wrote and the song is a huge hit for Danny but for Rick he wants the recognition as it's his song and then it gets very interesting. 4IP June 1970

This is from the Telegraph June 2nd 1970 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB which it is now Radio TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 70's having originally been an Ipswich radio station but it was getting big in Brisbane by that time besides from being an music station it also promoted music events which on Sunday June 7th it promoted the Queensland Pop Festival at the Sound Machine on Elizabeth Street in the city and among the 20 bands that performed there included Burke and Wills(featuring Jamie Dunn), Cherry Tree, Gentle Art, Seasons Of The Witch and Crossroad Traffic which the bands competing for $1000 in cash.

This is the new album by legendary British singer-songwriter Paul McCartney and it was recorded at Abbey Road in London as well in Metropolis and Hog Hill Mill and in Los Angeles at Henson, Gold Tooth and Diamond Dust studios. The songs on the album are mostly written by Paul McCartney and 5 he wrote with Andrew Watt an American songwriter and record producer who with Paul produced the album and one of the tracks Home To Us Paul sings with fellow Beatle Ringo Starr which also Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders and Sharlee Spiteri from the British band Texas did the backing vocals on it and also Giles Martin son of Beatles record producer Sir George Martin did the co arrangments on some of the tracks. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs which has nostaglic feel in them as it is inspired by Paul's childhood memories in Liverpool and I think we can relate to them which it is one of the best albums he has ever made as to prove that no matter how old you are...

On Sunday June 7th Legendary Australian singer Digger Revell will be performing at the Rainbow Bay Surf Club which he will his hits from the 60's including I'm Building Castles In The Air, Over The Rainbow, My Little Rocker's Turned Surfie and Twilight Time as well as other songs including Johnny Be Goode, Old Time Rock and Roll, The Wanderer and Shout as well as country songs and rockabilly and it starts at 3pm which if you would like to see him please do yourselves a favour and SEE HIM which you will be impressed and entertained as well as bringing back memories for those who grew up in the 60's in the days of Bandstand and the Johnny O'Keefe Show/Sing Sing Sing as well as those who are discovering the music for the first time you will be truly experiencing an icon of Australian rock who should be considered for an Aria Hall of Fame for the impact he has made on Australian music who also performed in Vietnam 11 times between 1967-72.

In nearly 2 weeks time the ARIA Hall of Fame is happening with the standalone ceremony at Sydney's Carriageworks on Gadial land and the inductees are Kate Cebrano, Jenny Morris, Vika and Linda, The Living End, Spiderbait and Gurrumul which they truly deserve it for the impact they made on Australian music even though Jenny Morris who is a Kiwi but she made a impact in Australia and there has been a issue as there are so many performers from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's are missing their chances as they have an impact on the Australian music scene who should deserve an ARIA Hall of Fame as much as everyone else as there the performers from those eras I mentioned were the pioneers of the industry and it would not be the industry as it is today in 2026 if it wasn't for the artists which Col Joye, Johnny O'Keeffe, Billy Thorpe, Slim Dusty, Normie Rowe, The Easybeats, Helen Reddy, Dragon, Max Merritt, Glenn Shorrock as well as Little River Band, Ross Wilson as w...
