4IP June 1970

These are from the Telegraph June 26th 1970 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB which it is now Radio TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's top music radio stations at the time in the early 70's which besides from being an music radio station it promoted events which they promoted 2 events that weekend in June 1970 as the first was the Grand Final of the Queensland Pop Festival that had Brisbane groups The Light, Burke and Wills(including Jamie Dunn), Cherry Tree, Gentle Art, Trinity House, The Movement and Michael Turner In Session with special Guest stars Ross D Wyllie and the Sect won the Grand Final in 1969 with backing by the Brisbane group The Flamingoes and the 2nd event was the Sunday Funday at Carina Oval that had the 4IP Good Guys, the Queensland Pop Festival winners, Military and Pipe bands as well as appearances by Lord Mayor Clem Jones and Bruce Small.

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Hermans Hermits Australian Tour 2025

In August and September 2025 legendary British rock group Hermans Hermits are touring Australia which they will be performing in Queensland, NSW, ACT, Western Australia and Victoria and the group with original member and drummer Barry Whitwam, Jamie Thurston on bass guitar and vocals, John Summerton on guitar and vocals and Tony Young on Keyboards and vocals will perform many of their classic hits from the 60's including I'm Into Something Good, Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter, No Milk Today, There's A Kind Of Hush, My Sentimental Friend and many others.
