Last night I went to QPAC Concert to see the Britsh rock tribute show the Dire Straits Experience which has Chris White who worked with them on tour from 1985-95 as well as playing on one album On Every Street in 1991 and it was my first time seeing them live. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to South Bank, went to the Southbank Beer Garden where I had steak, chips and salad for dinner, went to NZ Natural Ice Shop, ate Tim Tam Sundae and walk to QPAC. Saw Rosmarie from work,drank Coke with No Sugar and went inside which it was packed. The show started after 8pm with the Dire Staits Experience coming on stage and they only did the one set as they performed some of the classic Dire Straits hits including Money For Nothing which they started off the show with, Walk of Life, So Far Away as well as other songs including Romeo and Juliet, On Every Street, Brothers In Arms, Your Latest Trick, In The Gallery and many others as well as very little talk during the show. Yesterday afternoon I went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary British rock group Herman's Hermits which has original member Barry Whitwam and it was my 16th time seeing them as it's been 31 years ago when I first saw them as well as being 60 years since Herman's Hermits very first Australian tour. I caught the bus from Coorparoo to Wooloongabba and then from there to Chermside, had a look at Dymocks and QBD and walk to Kedron Wavell. Went to the Kitchen, had Grilled Barramundi, chips and salad for lunch, drank Coke with No Sugar, had Strawberry Matcha Bao Buns for desert, saw Bronwyn from work, went to Blue Pacific Room and waited. Last night I went to QPAC Concert Hall to see Australian country singer Melinda Schenider doing the Barbra Streisand tribute show called The Way We Were and it was my 2nd time seeing Melinda Schneider as I saw just nearly 2 years ago at Kedron Wavell where I saw her doing the Doris Day tribute Saturday September 21st 2024. I caught the bus to South Bank, went to the Plough Inn where I had Pork Cop, chips and salad for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, at Movie Star Sundae @ NZ Natural Ice Cream Shop and walk to QPAC. Bought Melinda's CD, went outside and went inside. Brian Collins (Ethan Tamati) who has trouble accepting his new stepmother Liz (Nat Boltt) after his mother Paula (Renaye Tamati) passed away and has been going to the convent where he helps the nuns Sister Agnes(Judy Davis), Sister Luke(Miriam Margolyes) and Sister Mary Claire (Jacki Weaver) as well as wanting go to a mountain that has a connection with his mother and then Father Findlay (Jonny Brugh), Bishop Chaytor (John Bach) and Harry Greaves(Colin Moy) are planning to have the convent bulldozed and the nuns to be put in a retirement home which the Sisters Agnes, Luke and Mary Claire along with Brian go around New Zealand to get to Patricia who was Paula's aunty (Taneka Heke) to get the deeds and it gets interesting. Today I went to the Cleveland Showground for the rockabilly festival Greazefest which it has been 18 years since I first went there when it was at West End. I caught the bus to Cleveland, walk to the show grounds, texted Dad, saw Simon from Sonic Sherpa telling me that the records I ordered are there, went inside and Saw Roslynn Lovejoy and Ray. The first act I saw today were Lovejoy Surf who are always one of my favourite acts that I love seeing at Greazefest which has Kylie Lovejoy on bass, her father Arnold who is an well known on the Brisbane scene since the late 50's early 60's on guitar, Jeff Lovejoy also on guitar and Danny Murphy came on stage and in their set performed songs by the Shadows, The Atlantics, The Rolling Stones, The Ventures and many others with great musicianship as well as getting the audience entertained with Kylie doing the talking mentioning about making an album which they have not done yet but I Hope they do as it would be great to listen to. It's FANTASTIC as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth a read and he is still DJing as well as making music. This is a must for 70's and 80's music fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
