4BK Top 10 charts August 1964

This is from the Telegraph August 5th 1964 and this was the 4BK Top 10 with The Beatles at number 1 with the title track from the movie they did A Hard Day's Night, The Beatles at number 2 with Boys with Ringo Starr on lead vocals which was from the Please Please Me album as it was a cover of the Shirelles song and Long Tall Sally their version of the Little Richard song, Cilla Black who was managed by Brian Epstein as well at number 3 with You're My World, Dusty Springfield at number 4 with Wishin and Hopin which was a cover of the Dionne Warwick song, Louis Armstrong at number 5 with Hello Dolly, The Shadows at number 6 with the Rise and Fall of Flingel Blunt, The Dave Clark Five at number 7 with Can't You See That She's Mine, The Beatles at number 8 with Can't Buy Me Love which was from A Hard Day's Night album and movie, Brian Poole and the Tremeloes at number 9 with their version of the Crickets song from 1959 Someone Someone and the boy from Moorooka Billy Thorpe with the Aztecs at number 10 with their version of the Coasters' 1959 hit Poison Ivy.

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...
