Kings of Hearts by Jeff Apter

This is the biography of iconic American singer Roy Orbison written by Australian music writer Jeff Apter and in the book talks about Roy's upbringing in Vernon, Fort Worth and Wink Texas, getting an guitar on his 6th birthday, played in the Wink Westerners and the Teen Kings, began recording for Sun Records which he had the 1 hit Ooby Dooby, recorded for RCA, doing songwriting which he had success, his first marriage to Claudette which they would have 3 sons, began recording for Monument Records which he would achieve great success with such classics including Only The Lonely, Blue ANgel, Running Scared, Crying, Dream Baby, In Dreams and Pretty Woman, touring the world including Australia and England, the tragic loss of Claudette in 1966 and 2 of his sons in a fire in 1968, his 2nd marriage to Barbara which they had 2 sons, his ups and downs, working with the Travelling Wilburys and many others. It is FANTASTIC as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it's well worth a read and Jeff Apter who has just written a book about the legendary Australian rock band Australian Crawl has done a great job with this book but there is a error as there was no mention of Roy Orbison's first Australian tour in September 1961 as he was on the bill with Dion Di Mucci, Ray Peterson, Jack Scott, Australian singer Johnny Chester and Melbourne rock group The Thunderbirds which they did Brisbane September 6th, Melbourne September 7th and Sydney for 2 shows September 8th and 9th as he mentions 1964 as the first tour which actually was his 2nd but otherwise great effort. It's been 38 years since the passing of Roy Orbison but the great music he made lives on today as we still hear it on the radio as well as streaming which great music never dies it endures and this is a must for Roy Orbison fans which I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so please do yourselves a favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
