Number 96-Aftermath of Murder DVD
2 months ago on March 11th, legendary Australian soap Number 96 was back on DVD with Aftermath of Murder which it was of course the famous Pantyhose Strangler and it continues from episode 681(january 28th 1975)-712(march 12th 1975). In this DVD, Marilyn MacDonald(frances Hargraves) discovers something about Michael( Peter FLeet), Andy Marshall(Peter Adams) is writing an article about his love & life with the murderess which cause the residents of Number 96 to start an vigilant group to get him away, Don Finlayson(Joe Hasham) is not well and has to go to Hinderberg, marilyn tells Mummy(Wendy Blacklock) & daddy(mike dorsey) that she has decided to become an Motor bike riding lesbian, Aldo(johnny Lockwood) & roma Goldolfus(Phillipa Baker) are back from America and want to make some changes to the deli, Les Whittaker(gordon McDougall) is up to his old tricks, Trixie O'toole(jan Adele) gets an surprise marriage proposal, MAggie Cameron(bettina Welch) sinks her claws into an younger man named Adam Shaw(Julian Rockett) and wealth isn't the only surprise for alf(james Elliot) & Lucy Stucliffe(Liz Kirby) and many interesting stuff in this DVD. it's an excellent DVD and it has great features which are -the aduio commentaries with Liz Kirby, Carol raye and Andrew Mercardo, the 1975 chrisimas messages from the cast, the 1976 channel 10 adults only promo, the australian way retrospective from 1978 which had host Gordon Elliot, Joanna Lockwood, Elaine Lee,Abigail and Joe Hasham and 2008 channel 10 news story which had Pamela garrick & chantal Contouri. It's great to see these episodeson DVD which also had other characters like Dorrie & herb Evans(PAt McDonald & Ron Shand), Flo patterson(Bunney brooke), Norma Whittaker(Shelia Kennelly), Dudley butterfield(Chard hayward), Carol Finlayson(PAula Duncan), Arnold Feather(Jeff Kevin)and others and even Henri Szeps has an guest role in these episodes. I Hope there will be more Number 96 on DVD in the future and it is an must for any Australian TV fan who were around at that time watching the show as well as the new generation of fans who are interested in this show. I give this 4 stars and it's in the shops now.
