Digger Revell @ the Rainbow Bay Surf Club Saturday June 6th 2015

On Saturday afternoon June 6th I went to the Rainbow Bay Surf Club to see legendary Australian singer Digger Revell and it was my 12th time seeing him live. I walk to the Rainbow Bay Surf Club which I got there after 3pm, I signed it, drank Coke Zero and the back up band did an set which they performed a few songs including Bright Side of the Road, All Shook Up and Sweet Home Chicago. There was an interval which I ate an packet of chips, drank Coke Zero and saw Mick martin who plays guitar in the Smokin Crawdads as well as playing in the back up band for Digger Revell that afternoon. Digger Revell came on stage at about 4.25pm and I only stayed for the 1 set but he did an AWESOME set doing classic rock and country songs as well as one of his hits from the 60's and he walk through the audience shaking hands with them as well as standing on a chair during one of the songs and there was an interval which I spoke with a lady named Diane and had a conversation with Digger which I ask...

Martin Cilia @ the Kirra Beach Stage Saturday June 6th 2015

On Saturday June 6th I went to the Kirra Beach Stage to see Australian guitarist Martin Cilia. I have seen him 4 times with the Atlantics and 2 times with Mental As Anything and it was the first time I have seen Martin with his own band . The show started after 1.20pm which he did just the one set and for the next 1 hour and 30 minutes doing his own compositions including Return of the Surf Guitar,Surfin Billy as well as classic instrumentals including Pipeline,Hawaii five O, Misirlou, Walk Don't Run as well as classic instrumentals like Apache and Albatross and some Atlantics stuff including Bombora, Flight Of The Surf Guitar, Big Swells, Saturday Night and Reef Break and the other musicians in the band were Lloyd on Drums,Jeanette on bass and James on guitar. The show finished beofre 2.50pm, I bought a CD as well as meeting Mandy Hall who is my Facebook friend as well as selling the CD's and I walked over to the Rainbow Bay Surf Club to see Digger Revell. the Memphis Suns @ the Cooly Sands Stage June 6th 2015

On Saturday morning June 6th I went to the Cooly Sands stage on Griffith Street to see the Memphis Suns an rockabilly group from Adelaide and it was my first time seeing them. The show started at about 11.30am and they did 2 sets as they performed classic Sun recordings as well as stray Cats and one of their own songs and everyone enjoying themselves having an great time and also they didn't have anything to sell even though they had a CD but didn't have it with them as it was back at the hotel. The show finished at about 1 pm, thanked Frank and I walk to Kirra where I would go and see Martin Cilia. It was an FANTASTIC show which the band were FANTASTIC and sounding and playing great as well as doing those classic great songs from a great era and I hope they come back to Cooly Rocks next year. On Friday night June 5th I went to the South Tweed Sports Club to see legendary Australian singer Lonnie Lee which it was my 10th time seeing him and it was second time going to the South Tweed Sports Club as the last time I went there was on Saturday May 30th 2009 when I saw Lucky Starr. I walk to the bus stop, caught bus, got off @ Tweed, walk to the bus stop, signed in, rang Dad, bought Pepsi max, drank it, went inside and waited which an alarm went off as someone touched an door. Rosie and the Mighty Kings

On Friday afternoon June 5th I went to Twin Towns to see Rosie and the Mighty Kings an rockabilly group from Melbourne who does the old rock n roll songs and it was my first time seeing this group but I seen Rosie 10 months before as she was one of the background singers @ the Go Show Concert @ Jupiters on Saturday August 16th last year. I went to Twin Towns which before the show I had lunch at Flames as I had Pork Cutlets and veges, had an Coke Zero to drink, went to the Showroom and waited. The show started @ 12.30pm and for the next 3 hours they did 3 sets of classic rock n roll and rockabilly songs by acts like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Stray Cats, Jerry lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Carl Perkins, The Beatles, Wanda Jackson and many others as well as having CD's on sale which I bought one during the first interval and in the second interval I accidently bought 2 Crunch bars which I ate them. Pat Capocci/Si Cranstoun show @ the Marquee June 4th 2015

On Thursday June 4th I went to the Marquee to see Sydney rockabilly singer Pat Capocci and English singer Si Cranstoun which it was my second time seeing him live as he was at Cooly Rocks On 2 years ago. I walked to the Marquee, saw Brian Foster who works with Cooly Rocks On and had an Coke Zero to drink. The show started after 7pm with the first act being Pat Cappoci with an great backing band including Jon Flynn on double bass and he did 2 sets which he did mainly his own songs as well as a few covers including Lindy Lou and during the first interval I bought an Pat Capocci CD as well as am Si Cranstoun which he had recorded especially for Cooly Rocks. After Pat's performance there was another interval which I saw my friend Lorraine and use mobile while I waited. On Wednesday June 3rd I attended my first Cooly Rocks on show for 2015 which was at the the Marquee and the acts on the bill were Leisa Kerris(7th time), The Lions Den(first time) and the Beatlegs(5th Time). I walked to the Marquee, had a Coke Zero to drink,saw guitarist Russell Bayne, my sister on the mobile looking for Mum and Dad and use mobile. The show started after 7pm with the first act being Leisa Kerris which she did an set of classic 50's and 60's songs by the girl singers including Dusty Springfield, Brenda Lee,Connie Francis, Sandy Posey and Petula Clark and after her set said hello to her which I bought an double CD as well as getting it signed and an photo and also had an bottle of water to drink. A Royal Night Out

On Tuesday June 2nd I went to the cinema @ Coolangatta to see the movie A Royal Night Out. It is May 8th 1945 and the war in Europe is over which the people of London are celebrating. Princess Elizabeth(Sarah Gadon) and Princess Margaret(Bel Powley) are allowed to join the celebrations against the wishes of the Queen(Emily Watson) as well as the King(Rupert Everett) who is impressed with Elizabeth's pleading to ask her to report back on the feelings of people towards him as well as the midnight speech he was going to do. Each girl who are going incognito are being given an chaperone of a army officer and the plan was for them to get back to Buckingham Palace by 1am but doesn't go according to plan as each girl would encounter romance and danger and it gets interesting. Old Rockers Get Together 2015 @ Broncos Leagues Club

On July 12th 2015 the Old Rockers Get Together show which Brisbane musicians from the 60's get together and play will be performing @ the Broncos Leagues Club. The line up for this year's show are- The Avengers, The Sonics, The Dominoes,Poor Man's Sons, The Chelsea Set, Gingerbread, Six O' Clock Rock and Guest Artists and they will perform classic rock n roll songs. The show will start @ 11am until 6pm and it will cost $15.00 to get in which the profits from that will go to the Queensland Institute of Medical Research and if you want to go to this show do yourself a favour and SEE IT as it is an FANTASTIC show as well as seeing Brisbane legendary bands who used to play at venues like TC's, The Red Orb, Snoppy Hollow,Sandgate Town Hall, Nundah Memorial Hall, Coconut Grove and many others and also I'm sure it will bring back memories for Brisbane people who grew up in the era seeing those bands.
