This is the autobiography of legendary American singer-songwriter as well as an member of the legendary American group Journey Jonathan Cain and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Chicago, surviving an school fire which killed nearly 100 of his school friends, getting into music at an young age including learning the accordion, playing in bands like The Futuras, the Brotherhood and Jonathan Cain band before joining the Babys in 1979 which he was on 2 albums, joining Journey in 1980 which he is still with them to this day, his 3 marriages, working with Jimmy Barnes and Bad English, his 3 marriages , the departure of Steve Perry and many others, It's an FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and an SUPERB book with FANTASTIC stories as well as entertaining . This is the autobiography of legendary American music executive and founder of Sire Records Seymour Stein. In This book he talks about his upbringing in Brooklyn, working for Billboard Music Magazine, King Records and Red Bird labels, founded the record label Sire Records in 1966, discovering talent including The Ramones, Madonna, The Pretenders, Blondie, Talking Heads, Ice T, The Cure etc, the deaths of ex wife Linda and daughter Samantha and many others. It's FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT book with FANTASTIC stories which I enjoyed reading it and this book was co written with Garth murphy who wrote the book Cowboys and Indies The Epic History of The Record Industry. Seymour who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2005 is still with Sire Records as he is the chairman as well as the Vice President of Warner Brothers Records and this book is an must for music fans which I give it 4 and an half stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT.

The Australian Buddy Holly Show with Chris Knight @ Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club promoted by Matman Promotions

On Sunday night June 10th I went to the Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club to see the Australian Buddy Holly Show with Chris Knight which was promoted by Matman Promotions and I have seen him plenty of time since 2004 and an great way to finish off CRO 2018 for me was this show. Caught the bus to the golf club, saw Colin and Robyn which we talked, went inside and bought an Elvis picture. The show started after 8.30pm with Kris Knight and the band coming on the stage including Gail on keyboards and Tony on bass and in the first set did Buddy Holly classics as well as songs by Elvis, Eddie Cochran, Ritchie Valens and Bill Haley and there was an interval where I had an Diet Coke to drink as well as seeing Matman and Marina. In the second set Chris did more Buddy Holly classics as well as rock and roll classics which lance Lipinsky was in the audience and also got an Ambassador for the CRO 2018 certificate which he deserved it. On Sunday afternoon June 10th I went to the Jack Evans Boat Harbour Stage to see an group called Reckless Roulette an group from Brisbane which it was my first time seeing them and they did an FANTASTIC set which they did covers of classic songs including Wanda Jackson, Chuck Berry and the Stray cats with great singing by Christie which everyone enjoyed and the other guys in the band played great too as it was the last free show for CRO 2018 which Grizzly Adams from vintage FM in NSW did compering and also did an FANTASTIC show too. Danny Mayers @ the Greenmount Stage

On Sunday morning June 10th I went to the Greenmount Stage where I saw Danny Mayers the former lead singer of the legendary Australian singer The Delltones with his band Yakaty Yak and it was my first time seeing him on his own as I had seen him with the Delltones from 2007-10 and also was going to see him at the Irish Club Saturday August 27th 2011 in the city but it was cancelled but I am glad that I had got the chance to see his show. The show started at 12.45pm with Danny coming on stage doing an FANTASTIC set doing the Delltones classics as well as doing stuff by the Beach Boys, Cliff Richard, The Easybeats, Sonia Da Da and many others as well as entertaining the crowd to sing along to the songs and backed up by great musicians including Rick Kent from the Vibrants an Australian 60's group and Andre Els on bass and in the audience was Woody Finlayson who played with the Delltones from 1984-2015. Lance Lipinsky @ Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club promoted by Matman Promotions

On Saturday Night June 9th I went to Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club where I saw American pianist and singer Lance Lipinsky which it was my 8th time seeing him as the last time I saw him was 4 years ago at Twin Towns. I had dinner at the club which I had Chicken Pamigiana, chips and Salad for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, had Ice Cream and Migraine for desert, went inside, saw Heidi and Matman, drank water and saw Steve from NZ. The show started about 8.30pm which Lance backed by the Side Kicks came on stage which he did 2 hours with no break doing the classic rock and roll stuff by people like Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry and many others as well as his own songs and doing the movements like standing on the piano as well as playing guitar too as well as interacting with the audience which it's great and getting everyone entertained getting the crowd to sing along to the songs as well as thanking the fans for their support over the years and also...

on Saturday Afternoon June 9th I went to the Dutton Street stage @ Coolangatta where I saw Jake and the Cadillacs who are from Murwillumbah NSW and it was my first time seeing them. They did an FANTASTIC set which they did an mixture of covers by Elvis Presley, AC/DC, Eurythmics, Jerry lee Lewis etc as well as some covers which great movements by the singer Jake as well as great playing by the others guys in the band and everyone enjoying themselves and I enjoyed their performance which they were FANTASTIC. Louie Shelton Band @ the Jack Evans Boat Harbour Stage

On Saturday June 9th I was at the Jack Evans Boat harbour Stage where I saw legendary American guitarist Louie Shelton who played on records by the Monkees, Glen Campbell, The Jackson Five, Lionel Richie, Boz Scaggs etc and his band which he is based on the Gold Coast as it was my first time seeing him. He came on stage with his band at about 11.15am which they started with an medley of instrumentals and then singer Atalie came on stage which she sang the classic songs by people like Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top, Santana, Queen and others and everyone was enjoying themselves as well as Danny Mayers from the Delltones was in the audience. After the show finished some of us including Tyler and his dad were waiting for Louie to come out which he did as Tyler had some Monkees records with him and I had my autograph book which he signed it as well as getting an photo with him which was an honour. The Walters @ the Jack Harbour Stage

On Saturday June 9th I went to the first of the free shows I attended during Cooly Rocks On which the first was The Walters who I had seen at the Greenslopes Bowls Club last year on Saturday December 2nd last year and they performed at the Jack Evans Harbour Stage that Saturday which they did an FANTASTIC set doing an mixture of original songs and covers of people like Little Walter and Clarence Gatemouth Brown etc with FANTASTIC guitar playing by Dan as well as great singing and harmonica playing by Nathan and everyone who was there were having an great time and enjoying themselves which I look forward to see them again soon.

Lonnie Lee and the Leemen @ the Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club

On Friday June 8th I went to the Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club to see legendary Australian singer Lonnie Lee which it was my 11th time seeing him and it was the first of the 3 shows promoted by Matman Productions for that weekend. I went to the club with Mum, Dad and Heath as we had an buffet dinner there, went inside, drank Lemon and waited. The show started after 8.30pm with Lonnie Lee and the Leemen coming on stage which in the first they did an Elvis set as they did the 50's period from Sun to early RCA classics as well as telling stories about it and there was an interval which I bought the live CD as well as Suzanne(Lonnie's wife). In the second set Lonnie did his hits from the 50's and 60's as well as covers of rock, pop and country by Buddy Holly, Johnny Horton, The Platters which he did an great version of the Great Pretender, Sam Cooke, Marty Robbins and many others which some in medleys as well as telling stories about his career.
