Siren Song by Seymour Stein
This is the autobiography of legendary American music executive and founder of Sire Records Seymour Stein. In This book he talks about his upbringing in Brooklyn, working for Billboard Music Magazine, King Records and Red Bird labels, founded the record label Sire Records in 1966, discovering talent including The Ramones, Madonna, The Pretenders, Blondie, Talking Heads, Ice T, The Cure etc, the deaths of ex wife Linda and daughter Samantha and many others. It's FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT book with FANTASTIC stories which I enjoyed reading it and this book was co written with Garth murphy who wrote the book Cowboys and Indies The Epic History of The Record Industry. Seymour who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 2005 is still with Sire Records as he is the chairman as well as the Vice President of Warner Brothers Records and this book is an must for music fans which I give it 4 and an half stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT.
