Who I am is the autobiography of British guitarist, singer-songwriter and founding member of the legendary British band the Who. in this book pete talks about his diffcult childhood as he lived with his grandmother which left him angry and resentful and the repercussions it would have later on, getting into music which he started playing harmonica and got an guitar when he was 12 which his grandmother bought it, played in an group called The Confederates doing dixieland jazz music playing banjo with John Entwistle who played horns, joined an group called the Detours fronted by Roger Daltrey who would become known as the Who, the famous stage act which Pete smashed his guitar, the success with hits like I Can't Explain, My generation, Substitute, Pictures of Lily, I can see for Miles, Pinball Wizard, Won't Get Fooled Again, Who Are You and many others, created the power chord and broke the normal 3 minute pop song which would happen in Tommy,Quadrophenia and other works later on, playing @ Monterey, Woodstock and Isle Of Wight, problems with drugs and alcohol, getting into the spiritual stuff with Meher Baba, the deaths of Keith Moon and JOhn ENtwistle,problems in his marriage, getting into trouble with child pornography on internet which he was cautioned and many others. It's an BRILLIANT and an AWESOME book with brilliant stories by Pete and just an AWESOME read which I loved it as well as being impressed by it. it's been an long time coming as he started writing it in 1996 and it's an must for any rock n roll fan as well as fans of the Who which I'm sure you will enjoy it as I have enjoyed reading it. I'm giving this 5 stars and it's in the shops now.
