Kings of Country show @ Kedron Wavell October 20th 2012

Last Saturday October 20th I went to Kedron Wavell Services to see the tribute show to Kenny Rogers,Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson called Kings Of Country which this act is from the USA and I also bought the ticket on the wednesday. The show started around 8.10pm with Phillip Bauer, Marion Deaton and Marty Edwards doing the hits of Johnny, Willie and Kenny and in Marty's performance he did an dedication of the lady to Dell and les who are celebrating 49 years of marriage in December which he gave them an rose in the first half of the show. there was an interval which i bought an Coke and chips and in the second half Philip, Marion and Marty did more the biggest hits and during To All the Girls I loved Before an lady named Wendy came on stage which was great. The show finished after 10.30pm which after the show Marty,Phillip and Marion come out to sign autographs as they had CD's and photos on sale and I bought the photos and got them signed as well as having photos with them as well. I saw an young lady named Alicia who I knew from the shop back in the mid 90's and had not seen her in over 10 years which she is well and is an teacher now @ brisbane State High School. The show was FANTASTIC which i had an great time, the back up band were great and Marion,Phillip and Marty were just FANTASTIC singing great and doing those classic songs very well. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists.
