Cyndi Lauper A Memoir is the autobiography of legendary American singer of the 80's Cyndi Lauper. In this book she talks about her growing up in Queens, New York to leaving home @ the age of 17, doing different jobs like IHOP waitress, racetrack hot walker etc as she pursing her passion for music. She started by playing small gigs with bands like Flyer and Blue Angel and began recording for the Portrait label in 1983 with the album She's So Unusual which from that had 4 hit singles including Girls Just Want to Have Fun, She Bop, Time After Time which earned hit an Grammy Award for Best New Artist as well as having other big hits throughout the 80's including True Colors, I Drove All Night, Change of Heart,What's Going On and others as well as speaking her mind and sticking up for an cause like HIV/AIDS, women's rights, Gay rights and others. It's an EXCELLENT and an BRILLIANT book and an great read with great stories which she tells it honestly with warmth and humor. It's an must for fans of Cindy Lauper as well as fans of 80's music and hope you enjoying this book whichj I'm sure you will be impressed. I am giving this 4 and an half stars and it's in the shops now.
