John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew @ Kedron Wavell

This afternoon I went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary Australian singer-songwriter and Redgum member John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew which was my second time seeing John as my first time seeing him was at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre for the Countdown Spectacular 2 Tuesday August 21st 2007. Dad picked me up from church, took me to Cannon Hill, caught bus to the city, went to the bus stop, caught bus to Chermside and walk to Kedron Wavell. Went to the Café, rang home, had Fettuccini Garlic Prawn for lunch, drank Coke Zero, had brownie sundae for desert, saw Paula who works there, went to the Blue Pacific Room and write notes. The show started @ 2pm with John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew coming on stage which matching army shirts with John Nutting doing the narrating and John performed the songs which among the ones he did in the first set which Anzac Biscuts, On Every Anzac Day, Khe Sahn, the classic I was Only 19 and finished off the set with Waltzing Matilda as well a...

Last night I went to the Balmoral Cinema with my Mum to see the movie The Chaperone. It's 1922 and 16 years old Louise Brooks(Haley Lu Richardson) is going to New York to study dance and Norma Carlisle (Elizabeth McGovern) from Kansas offers to take her as an chaperone which she does and goes to New York where Louise goes to the dance school which it's run by Ruth St John(Miranda Otto) and her husband Ted Shawn (Robert Fairchild)as well as Norma wants to find out about her birthparents as well as meeting an guy named Joseph (Geza Rohing) while Louise is enjoying the New York life and it gets interesting. It's Fantastic and excellent with top, impressive and excellent acting by Haley Lu Richardson, Elizabeth McGovern, Miranda otto, Robert Fairchild, Geza Rohing, Blythe Danner and Campbell Scott son of actors George C Scott and Colleen Drewhurst. Last night I went to see legendary Australian duo Air Supply @ QPAC Concert Hall as it was my first time seeing them and they were supposed to play on Tuesday night due to some circumstances it was cancelled but at least it happened on Anzac Day. Dad took me to Carindale, caught bus to South Bank, went to Kitchen Next Door Bar which I had Grilled Chicken for dinner, did some writing and Walk to QPAC. Bought poster and Hat, ate Crunch, Drank Coke Zero, saw Dr Lu from my work, went inside, saw John an man I know from the gigs, write notes and waited. The show started @ 8pm with Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell coming on stage backed up by an 5 piece orchestra and 5 musicians with Aaron McClain (Guitar and Musical Director), Aviv Cohen (Drums), Doug Guild (Bass) and Mirko Tessandori (Keyboards) which they did 2 sets doing the classic hits they made famous in the 70's,80's and 90's as well as doing Without You the Badfinger song which Harry Nilsson had an big hit with in ...

This is the new compilation of Legendary American group Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and it has recordings that he did with the Heartbreakers as well as solo and Mudcrutch from 1976-2016 as well as an unreleased song and an alternate version of The Best Of Everything. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC songs that has stood the test of time and sounds as fresh and great today as it did back then which these songs you can never get tired of. Cameron Crowe did the liner notes and great effort of having these songs together on this double CD as well as an great representation of Tom petty. This double CD went to number 16 in the USA, number 38 in the UK and Number 73 in Australia. It's been nearly 2 years since Tom Petty passed away but the great music he made will live on forever and you will always hear those songs. This is an must for Tom Petty fans and I am giving this 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT.

This is the new CD compilation by the Rolling Stones and what I am reviewing is the Deluxe Edition which it's the 3 cd version. On the first 2 CD's it has the recordings of the Stones between 1971-2016 including the classics Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Wild Horses, Angie, Miss You, It's Only Rock and Roll, Love Is Strong, Harlem Shuffle and others and on the 3rd CD has the live recordings between 2015-18 including Beast of Burden with Ed Sheeran and Wild Horses with Florence Welch. It's AWESOME,ROCKIN and SUPERB with AWESOME songs that has stood the test of time and still sound as great today and the live tracks are just AWESOME too particularly with some of the artist I have mentioned which it's great to hear that. It's 57 years since the Stones was formed and are still going strong which it's great to see as they have survived the changes in the music scene to be where they are today. Buddy Love and the Tremors @ Carina Leagues Club

Last Saturday April 13th I went to Carina Leagues to see local group Buddy Love and the Tremors which it was my second seeing them. Dad took me to the club, had Lamb Shanks for dinner, drank Coke Zero, ate Cake and Cream and did writing. The show started @ 8pm which they did 3 sets doing an mixture of classic rock and roll and country by Elvis, The Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry, Stray Cats, Eric Clapton and others as well as everyone enjoying themselves on the floor and there was an CD on sale but no one bought it and I see them again next time I will buy one. The show finished at 11.30pm, thanked one of the guys, saw Dad and came home. It's after World War 2 Rachael Morgan (Keira Knightley) arrived in Hamburg Germany meeting up with her husband Lewis (Jason Clarke) who is an British Colonel going through the ruins of Hamburg to the grand house they are sharing with the former owners Stefan Lubert (Alexander Skarsgard) an German widower with an troubled daughter Freda (Flora Theimann). there is tensions between Rachael and Lewis as she has been through the loss of her son which Lewis is more focused on moving on with his life and Stefan and Rachael take an liking to each other which gets interesting/ It's interesting and excellent with great acting by Keira Knightley, Jason Clarke, Alexander Starsgard and Alexander Scheer. It is an great story but kind of lacks in other parts but it well worth seeing anyway.
