Talk Is Cheap by Keith Richards
In 1988 Rolling Stones guitarist and songwriter Keith Richards released his very first solo album Talk Is Cheap which went to number 37 in the UK and number 24 in the USA and it was at the time when the Rolling Stones had a few years off as there was some tensions between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards so Mick did his solo work and Keith recorded this album. It was produced by Keith and American drummer Steve Jordan as well as writing the songs that were on the album and among the musicians who played on the album were ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor, Sarah Dash of Pattie LaBelle and the Blue Belles, Charley Drayton who now plays with the Divinyls, Bootsy Collins and others. It is now out on CD and what I am reviewing is the deluxe version as there is 6 unreleased songs which includes covers of My Babe and Big Town Playboy which Keith Richards and his manager Jane Rose were the executive producers on the reissues. It's AWESOME, ROCKIN and SUPERB with AWESOME songs which sounds great and still sounds great to this day which holds up so well. It has gone to number 43 in the UK and has re-entered the Australian album charts at number 41. Keith has been on the road with The Rolling Stones but have cancelled their dates as Mick Jagger had an heart valve procedure. This is an must for Rolling Stones fans as well as fans of Keith Richards' solo work and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT.
