Dumbo
Last night I went to the Balmoral Cinema to see the movie Dumbo. It's 1919 and Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) an equestrian performer returns after being in the war which he lost his arm to the Medici Brothers Circus which it's owned by Max Medici (Danny De Vito). It's been going through financial troubles which Max had to sell the circus horses after the passing of Holt's wife Annie and Holt has been assigned to be the caretaker of an pregnant elephant named Mrs Jumbo who gives to an calf with unusual large ears. After an slow start Dumbo starts to make an make impression by flapping his ears that makes him fly as well as feathers that also plays an part for Dumbo to fly and then an man named V A Vandevere (Michael Keaton) who is an entrepreneur and owner of Dreamland an amusement park which he offers Medici an collaboration as he and Max would be partners as well as the Medici Brothers Circus troupe would perform as well as wanting Dumbo to perform with Colette Marchant an trapeze artist (Eva Green) but then it gets interesting. It's very well made, FANTASTIC, very funny and very entertaining with Fantastic acting by Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny De Vito, Eva Green and Alan Arkin. It's directed by Tim Burton, produced by Justin Springer, Ehren Kruger who also did the screenplay, Derek Frey and Katterli Frauenfelder and Danny Elfman did the music. it's inspired by the 1941 Disney movie and based on the novel by Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl. It's great family entertainment and an must for the family to see and I give it 4 stars as it's in the cinemas now as it was released last Thursday so do yourselves an favour and see it.
