This is the new compilation CD by legendary British rock Sweet and it's an 3 CD set which has the classic hits from the 70's including Fox On The Run, Ballroom Blitz, Peppermint Twist, Teenage Rampage, Little Willy, Love Is Like A Oxygen, Co-Co as well as album tracks and songs from 1969 and 1970 and also the liner notes was done by David Ling who is from the magazines Classic Rock and Rock Candy. It is FANTASTIC, AWESOME and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and Brilliant songs which has stood the test of time as they still sound great today as it did back then. Sweet with guitarist Andy Scott are still performing today which they will be performing shows in Germany and the UK in November and December and let's hope they come back to Australia to tour. This is an must for Sweet fans which I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will love it as I'm ure it will bring back memories for those who grew up in the 70's as well...

This is the autobiography of lead singer of the legendary Australian rock band AC/DC Brian Johnson and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Dunston, joining the Scouts, singing in the choir, played in early groups Toasty Folk Trio, Section 5, The Nine Pins, Gobi Desert Kanone Klub, Fresh, Jasper Hart Band Buffalo and USA , forming Geordie which had some succesful hit singles in the UK, encounters with Chuck Berry, Roger Daltrey and Alex Harvey, joining AC/DC in 1980 when Bon Scott passed away, achieving huge success with the Back In Black album, the problems of his hearing which led him to leave the band in 2016 but came back for the 2020 album Power Up, the passing of Malcolm Young in 2017 after his battle with dementia and many others. For this special segment for the lost classics as we all recieved news today the passing of legendary American rock and roll pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis aged 87 I want to do this tribute to Jerry Lee with Little Queenie. In 1960 Jerry Lee Lewis who was going through an rough time after the scandal of his marrying his 13 year cousin Myra Gale Brown once removed after achieving hit singles success in 1957 and 1958 with Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On, Great Balls Of Fire, Breathless and High School Confidential and was having not having big hit singles had an single with Little Queenie which was an cover of the Chuck Berry song that was released in 1959 in the USA but didn't do anything in the USA but it was an minor hit here in Australia going to number 99 where it stayed there for 1 week but it was the b side I Could Never Be Ashamed Of You which was an cover of the Hank Williams song went to number 30 in Hobart where it stayed there for 5 weeks as it was released in Australia...

This afternoon I went to the Powehouse in New Farm to see the documentary about the legendary Australian rock band The Angels called Kickin Down The Door as part of the Brisbane Film Festival that is happening from Thursday until next Sunday November 6th. In this documentary it has interviews with members John and Rick Brewster, original drummer Charlie King, Buzz Bidstrup and Brent Eccles, Doc Neeson's first wife Dzintra, sons Dan and Kieran, Iva Davies from Ice house, Suzi Quatro, members of Cheap Trick and many others and talks about the start in Adelaide as the Moonshine Jug and String Band and the Keystone Angels before becoming the Angels, starting recording for Alberts, achieving success, trying to crack overseas, line up changes and relationships including between John and Rick Brewster and many others. For this week's lost classics let's have an look at the 1976 Australian hit by British group Ritzi. The group were from the Flyde an area of Lancashire England in 1975 with the line up of Mick Carroll, Pete Hughes, Phil Free, Nigel Sawyer and Pete Long and in 1976 released the single Too Much Fandago which was written by members Mick Carroll and Pete Hughes which was produced by Roy Morris and Bruno Kretzschmar on the Warner Brothers label . The song was an hit in Australia which went to number 28 in Australia and number 4 in Brisbane. I saw Pete and Mick performed the song when they played with Eric Haydock's Hollies at Kedron Wavell Friday June 23rd 2000 and it sounded great.

On Friday I went to the Cave Inn at Woolloongabba to see legendary country Brisbane country singer Johnny Greenwood and Australian country singer Tracy Coster which it's my first time seeing them and it was my second time at the Cave Inn as I went to see Chad Morgan last Friday night. Dad took me to the bus stop at Carindale, caught bus, got at Woollongabba and walk to the Cave Inn. Rang home, ordered Pizza, bought Coke Zero and drank some of it.Had Pizza for dinner, drank Coke Zero, saw Ray, talked and saw Tyler which I met his dad Trevor. This is the 2nd of the 2 new compilation CD's of the legendary Australian rock band Little River Band and on this double CD it has the album tracks from their albums between 1975 until 1986 which include songs like Days On The Road, Seine City,Mistress of Mine, Light of Day, Just Say That You Love Me, When The War Is Over (their version of the Cold Chisel 1982 hit) as well as some live tracks in 1983 that has never been released including an great vocal version of Love Letters and many others. This is the new double CD compilation of the legendary Australian rock band Little River Band and on the double CD it has the classic hits including It's A Long Way There, Emma, Curiosity Killed The Cat, Emma, Everyday of My Life, Help Is On It's Way, Home On Monday, Reminiscing. Lady, Lonesome Loser, The Other Guy, Playing to Win and many others which it even has I'm Coming Home which was an hit for Beeb Birtles and Graeham Goble in 1979 as it covers from the 1975-86 period with Glenn Shorrock and John Farnham as lead singer. For This week's lost classics let's have a look at the 1982 solo single Come Back Suzanne by former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman. The song was from the self title album that was released on the A&M label March 26th 1982 and the song was recorded back in 1980 which he wrote it was an hit single only in Australia as it went to number 12 and it was number 9 in Brisbane which playing on drums was Bogdan Wiczling who played in Adam Ant's Band and on guitar was Terry Taylor who played in an British band in the 60's called The End which Bill Wyman had worked with them.

This is the autobiography of Australian radio annoucer and TV personality Myf Warhurst and in this book she talks about her upbringing in the small country town in town, her obsession with Countdown, her interest in music, had had first job at an newsagent, started writing for Inpress, working for Triple M, doing the show Spicks and Specks, co hosting eurovision , encounters with Julia Gillard, Kenny Rogers, Neneh Cherry, Shane Withington and may others. It is an Fantastic book as well as very impressive and very entertaining and an great read which it is well worth reading. Myf appeared on Who Do You Think You Are back in June and will be the Narrator in the musical Rocky Horror Picture show in Sydney next year. On Friday night I went to the Cave Inn at Woolloongabba to see the legendary Australian country singer Chad Morgan which it was my first time seeing him. I caught the bus to Wooloongabba, walk to the Cave Inn, rang home, ordered Pizza and chips and drank some of the Coke Zero. Had Pepperoni Pizza and chips for dinner, finish drinking the Coke Zero, saw Ray and Tyler, talked, saw Ross Clark an teacher I knew from Mt Gravatt High School in 1996 and ate some more pizza and chips. The show started at 7.39pm with Chad Morgan with an guitar and the brown hat started with his classic song the Sheik of Scrubby Creek as well as doing songs including Shotgun Wedding, If I Could Just Go Back, The Fatal Wedding amongst others which got the audience laughing and entertained as well as Chad telling stories and there was an interval where I bought an Chad Morgan CD and saw Geoffrey who I knew from school which until October 8th had not seen him for 29 years, had a look at Phase 4 Records where I bo...

For this week's lost classic segment let's have a look at the 1970 single Love Equal Love by the Ohio Express. By 1970 the hits for the American group the Ohio Express who had an string of hits from 1967-69 including Chewy Chewy, Down At Lulu's, Yummy Yummy Yummy and Mercy had ended for them in America but here in Australia they had one more hit single before it ended and the song is Love Equals Love which was written by John Carter who was from the British singing group the Ivy League and Russell Alquist who had been an athlete and an lifeguard with John producing the single with Ken Lewis who was also in the Ivy League which it was an hit only in Australia as it went to number 56 but it very well in 2 of the Australian cities as it went to number 6 in Adelaide and number 11 in Brisbane.

On Sunday I went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie The Wog Boy 3 Wog Boys Forever. Steve (Nick Giannopoulos) is still single and driving cabs reconnects with his best friend Frank (Vince Colosimo) as well as his one time girlfriend Cleo(Sarah Roberts) who is an DJ in the nightclub run by her boyfriend Goldie (Anthony J Sharpe) and she has an son Michael (Costa D'Angelo) and Steve is unaware that Brianna Beagle-Thorpe(Annabel Marshall-Roth and her brother Clayton(Liam Seymour) are hatching an plot to exact their revenge on Steve for ruining their mother's political career which gets interesting. It is Fantastic, Very Funny and very entertaining with Fantastic acting by Nick Giannopoulos, Vince Colosimo, Sarah Roberts, Anthony J Sharpe, Costa D'Angelo, Annabel Marshall-Roth and Liam Roth etc. It is directed by Frank Lotito and it is 22 years since the first Wog Boy movie came which this one is just as good as the other 2. He will be touring Australia next month with Warren Ellis but not playing in Queensland and this is an must for Nick Cave fans which I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

With the sad news this morning of the passing of legendary American country singer Jody Miller I thought a do tribute to her by doing an lost classic for my blog. Jody Miller had an string of hits on in the USA between 1964 until 1979 including ones on the country charts and here in Brisbane she had 6 hits between 1964 until 1971 which one of the songs I choose is the song They Call My Guy A Tiger. The song was written by Diane Hildebrand and Steve Stone and it was only an hit in Australia which went to number 53 and it went to number 10 in Brisbane in 1964.

This afternoon I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the movie See How They Run. It's West London 1953 and an play called Mousetrap has celebrated it's 100th performance which an American director named Leo Kopernick(Adrian Brody) wants to do an movie version of the play is murdered and Inspector Stollard (Sam Rockwell) and Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan) who is an widow with 2 children take on the case and they question those involved in the play including Richard Attenborough (Harris Dickinson), Petula Spencer(Ruth Wilson), Mervyn Cocker-Norris(David Oyelowo) and it gets really intresting. It is FANTASTIC, Very Funny and Very entertaining with great acting by Sam Rockwell, Saoirse Ronan, Adrian Brody, Harris Dickinson, Ruth Wilson, David Oyelowo, Reece Shearsmith and Shirley Henderson who plays Agatha Christie who did the Mousetrap. Last night I went to the Bayside Music Hall in Wynnum for the second time this long weekend to see the legendary Australian singer Russell Morris which the last time I saw him was 3 years ago as part of the APIA Good Times show @ QPAC Friday May 31st 2019. I caught the bus from Carindale to Cannon Hill, then another bus from Cannon Hill to Wynnum, walk to Wynnum RSL, rang home, ordered my meal, bought Coke Zero and waited. Had Chicken Parmigiana, chips and sald for dinner, drank Zero, ate Bread Roll and walk to the Bayside Music Hall. Went inside, write notes and then Kimberley Bowden an local singer-songwriter which she did mainly her own songs as well as doing Take Me Home Country Roads which she was great and an good sense of humour as well as entertaining the crowd. On Friday September 30th I went to the Bayside Music Hall to see the legendary rock band Dragon which it was my fifth time seeing them as the last time I saw them was at Kedron Wavell Friday March 11th 2016. I caught the bus to Wynnum from Carindale which came after 5.20pm, got off at Wynnum Central, walk to the Wynnum RSL CLub, got new membership card, rang home, ordred my meal, bought Coke Zero and waited. Had Grilled Chicken Breast, chips and Salad for dinner, drank Zero, ate bread roll and walk to the Bayside Music Hall as it was my first time going there.
