The Newcastle Song by Bob Hudson

In 1974 Australian singer Bob Hudson who had played in Electric Jug Band and Teen Angels as well as touring with the Rock and Roll Refugees released the album The Newcastle Song which went to number 6 in Australia and the title track was the number 1 hit in Australia in 1975 which was his only hit even though he had an few more singles but nothing happened chart wise and he wrote hits for Maureen Elkner in 1975 with Rak Off Normie and in 1976 Girls In Our Town for Margaret Roadknight. The album is now out on CD which besides from the original tracks it has 3 bonus tracks which included Rak Off Normie by Maureen Elkner and it is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with great songs which has stood the test of time and just an great today as it did back then. Bob is still around and this is an must for Australian music fans which I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Barbie

Last Sunday I went to the South Bank Cinema to see the movie Barbie. Barbie(Margot Robbie) who lives in Barbieland along with fellow Barbies are successful, self sufficent and self confident while Ken (Ryan Gosling) along the other Kens are always at the beach doing recreational stuff and Beach Ken is only happy to be with Barbie which he seeks an closer relationship but she doesn't want to as she wants to have independence and female friends. She is suddenly stricken worries about mortality during an dance party and then the next day she can't do her usual routine as well as having flatfeet which she has cellulite. Weird Barbie (Kate McKinnon) advises her to go to the real world to find the child playing child and to be cured of her affliction and she goes there along with Ken . They arrived at Venice Beach causing havoc and the CEO of Mattell(Will Ferrell) is alarmed who orders their capture. Barbie meets Sasha (Ariana Greenblatt) who criticizes her for unrelastic beauty...

Duets by Kevin Borich

This is the new album by legendary New Zealand and Australian guitarist Kevin Borich and he duets with music legends Joe Walsh from the James Gang and the Eagles, Leo Sayer, Ian Moss(Cold Chisel), Ella Hooper(Killing Heidi), Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo), Russell Morris and many others and his son Lucius playing on some tracks and Jon Carson on others and the songs are written by Kevin except the songs he wrote with Leo Sayer, Angry Anderson and John Swan aka Swanee. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC Songs with great playing by Kevin as well as the duets with the acts on the album which sounded great and is still sounding and playing great at age 75. The album was produced by Nick O'Donnell who also did the cover, engineering, Mixing and Mastering and the album has gone to number 66 on the Australian charts which it's great to see for someone who has been on the music scene since the 60's and still going strong who should also be considered for an ARIA H...

Kevin Borich at the Koala Tavern

On Sunday July 16th I went to the Koala Tavern to see legendary Kiwi and Australian guitarist Kevin Borich which was my 3rd time seeing him as the first was Long Way To The Top concert at Brisbane Entertainment center Tuesday September 10th 2002 and the second was support act to Russell Morris at Kedron Wavell Saturday September 13th 2014 and the show at Koala Tavern was my first time actually seeing Kevin Borich doing his own show. I caaught bus to Capalaba, walk to the Koala Tavern, bought Pork cackle and Coke With No Sugar, ate Pork Cackle, drank Coke With No Sugar, met Jon Carson who is an drummer and plays around Brisbane, saw Kevin Borich which he signed an album from 1977 I bought called Lonely One, got photos, bought the 2 CD's the new album Duets and the compilation Legacy which he signed them and use mobile. Hard Road by Stevie Wright

In 1974 Stevie Wright formerly of the Easybeats who had done the musical Jesus Christ Superstar in 1972 and signed up with Alberts in 1973 which he teamed up with former Easybeats Bandmates Harry Vanda and George Young who had returned from the UK which they became songwriters and staff producers. Wright formed the Stevie Wright All Star Band which included Warren The Pig Morgan from Chain and Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs and Johnny Dick from Max Merritt and the Meteors, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, In Focus and Fanny Adams which they did live shows and in April 1974 the album Hard Road was released which went to number 2 in Australia with Stevie, Harry and George produced it with the band including Warren The Pig Morgan and AC/DC member Malcolm Young playing on the album and it has the classic hit single Evie Parts 1 2 and 3 which was number 1 in Australia that year and also it is now out on CD. The New Boy

Last Sunday I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the Australian movie The New Boy. It's the 1940's and an 9 year old aboriginal oprhan (Aswan Reid) is brought to the remote monastrey in the middle of the night which it's run by Sister Eileen (Cate Blanchett) along with Sister Mum(Debroah Mailman) and George(Wayne Blair) who manage the farmlands which he forms connections with them and has unusual powers and is established at the monastrey and also it gets interesting throughout the film. It is FANTASTIC with FANTASTIC acting by Aswan Reid, Cate Blanchett, Deborah Mailman and Wayne Blair and this is one of Cate Blanchett's finest performances which any role she plays she does it so very well. She is one of the producers along with Kath Shelper, Andrew Upton and Lorenzo De Maio and it was directed by Warwick Thornton who also did the screenplay and cinematography. Nick Cave and Warwick Ellis does the music. I give it 4 stars and it's in the cinemas now so...

I'm Into Something Good by Harvey Lisberg

This is the autobiography of British talent manager and Impresairo Harvey Lisberg and in this book talks about his upbringing in Manchester, working as an accountant, discovering Hermans Hermits who he would management and achieve great success, meeting Graham Gouldman, managing 10CC, Tony Christie as well as snooker players James White and Alex Higgins, encounters with Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Mickie Most, Morris Levy, Colonel Tom Parker,Brian Epstein and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with very impressive and an AWESOME stories which it well worth an read and Harvey now splits his time between the USA and the UK. This is an must for music fans of the 60's and 70's and I am giving this 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Into The Void by Geezer Butler

This is the memior of British musician and founding member of the legendary British heavy metal band Black Sabbath Geezer Butler and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Birmingham, built his guitar in the late 50's, played in his first band called the Ruums, formed the Rare Breed, played in Polka Tulk and Earth, formed Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward, achieved great success with albums the self titled, Paranoid,Masters of Reality and many others, the line-up changes over the years including Ian Gillian and Ronnie Dio, his 2 marriages, encounters with people like Michael Landon, Leslie west from Mountain and Frank Zappa, and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is worth an read. This is the memoir of Scottish musician and singer as well as member of the Scottish pop group Pilot David Paton and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Scotland, getting his first guitar at the age of 11, playing in the Elements, The Beachcombers, Boots, Bay City Rollers, Fresh and Christyan, formed the group Pilot who would achieve success with hits including January and Magic, playing with the Alan Parsons Project, his solo work, working with Elton John, Kate Bush, Chris Rea, Jimmy Page, Paul McCartney and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is worth an read. This is an must for 70's music fans and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Reality

Today I went to the South Bank Cineplex Cinema to see the movie Reality which it's based on an true story. Reality Winner (Sydney Sweeney) ex Air Force is confronted by 2 FBI Agents Garrick(Josh Hamilton) and Taylor(Marchant Davis) to search her house as they have an warrant and the other agents come into search which she is getting questioned about the recent leak classified documents to an online publication and then it gets very interesting. It is FANTATSIC with great acting by Sydney Sweeney who does the role very well along with Josh Hamilton and Marchant Davis. It's directed by Tina Satter who also did the screenplay with James Paul Dallas and produced by Riva Marker, Noah Stahl, Greg Noble and Brad Becker-Parton. I give it 4 stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Rock'N'Roll 1959

On Sunday June 25th I went to the New Farm Cinema to see the Australian movie Rock n Roll 1959 and it was filmed at the Sydney Stadium in October 1959 in the day time and night time which it was released on October 30th 1959 which was shown in Sydney and Melbourne as well as New Zealand and then it disappeared which for 60 years it was thought it was lost but it was found in Melbourne in 2020 which the tape was in excellent condition so it now getting shown gradually in the cinemas. On the Film it has the australian music performers with The Delltones, Johnny Rebb and the Rebels, Johnny Devlin, Lonnie Lee, The Crescents, The Graduates, Warren Williams, Col Joye and the Joy Boys and Johnny O'Keefe and the Dee Jays performing songs they had released at the that time as well as covers of the songs that was out at that time and also was American singer Fabian was in the film but was removed after objections from Fabian's management.
