Hard Road by Stevie Wright
In 1974 Stevie Wright formerly of the Easybeats who had done the musical Jesus Christ Superstar in 1972 and signed up with Alberts in 1973 which he teamed up with former Easybeats Bandmates Harry Vanda and George Young who had returned from the UK which they became songwriters and staff producers. Wright formed the Stevie Wright All Star Band which included Warren The Pig Morgan from Chain and Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs and Johnny Dick from Max Merritt and the Meteors, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs, In Focus and Fanny Adams which they did live shows and in April 1974 the album Hard Road was released which went to number 2 in Australia with Stevie, Harry and George produced it with the band including Warren The Pig Morgan and AC/DC member Malcolm Young playing on the album and it has the classic hit single Evie Parts 1 2 and 3 which was number 1 in Australia that year and also it is now out on CD. On the CD that was released a few weeks ago it has the original tracks that was on the album no bonus tracks and it is an FANTASIC, BRILLIANT and an SUPERB album with FANTASTIC songs that has stood the test of time which still sounds great today. It's been nearly 8 years since the passing of Stevie Wright and 6 since the passing of George Young but the great music lives on and it gets better all the time as great music never dies. This is an must for australian music fans and I am giving this 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
