This is from the Telegraph February 28th 1975(50 Years ago) and now the talk back station as it's the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 70's which besides from playing the music they use to promote rock shows which they use to Friday Night Rock every Friday night at the Cloudland Ballroom in Bowen Hills which on this day Australian group the Mixtures known for the hits In the Summertime and the Pushbike Sing performed there with Brisbane bands Season of the Witch, Tramway and Voyager.

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the movie Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy. Bridget Jones(Renee Zellweger) who is an widow when her husband Mark Darcy(Colin Frith) was killed in Sudan on an mission with 2 children Billy(Casper Knopf) and Mabel (Mila Jankovic) is urged by Doctor Rawlings(Emma Thompson) to go back to work which she works an as TV Producer as well as re-entering the dating world she meets Roxster (Leo Woodal) when he rescues her and the children off the tree and they are dating while she also has feelings for her son's science teacher Scott Wallaker(Chiwetel Ejiofor) which gets interesting. It is excellent, very funny and very entertaining with FANTASTIC acting by Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Jim Broadbent, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Casper Knopf, Mila Jankovic, Leo Woodal, Gemma Jones and Isal Fisher. Autonomy by Steve Diggle

This is the memoir of British musician and member of legendary British rock band Buzzcocks Steve Diggle and in the book he talks about his upbringing in Manchester, starting get into music at an young age, working in a garage, the loss of his friend Alan, did guitar lessons, seeing live shows, joined the Buzzcocks in 1976 who would go on to great success with singles including What Do I Get, I Don't Mind and Ever Fallen In Love as well as albums including Another Music In A Different Kitchen and Love Bites, the band's break-up in the early 80's, his solo career, Buzzcocks back together in the late 80's, encounters with Tony Hicks from the Hollies, Bobby Farrell from Boney M, Kenny Lynch and Kurt Cobain, the passing of Pete Shelley and many others. Gary Puckett and the Union Gap @ Kedron Wavell

Last night I went to Kedron Wavell to see legendary American singer Gary Puckett and the Union Gap which was my 3rd time seeing Gary live. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to the city, caught bus to Chermside and walk to Kedron Wavell. Went to the Kitchen, rang Dad, ordered my meal, bought Coke With No Sugar, had Portugese Chicken for dinner, drank Coke With No Sugar, use my mobile, Had Banana Split for desert and went up to the Blue Pacific Room. The show started at 7pm with footage of Gary Puckett and the Union Gap on the Ed Sullivan Show in the late 60's and then Gary Puckett and the Union Gap came on stage which for the next 1 hour and 40 minutes performed the hits from the 60's including Lady Willpower, Woman Woman, Over You and Young Girl as well covers of other songs which was on the early albums including Simon and Garfunkel's Keeping The Customer Satisfied, Manfred Mann's The Mighty Quinn, To Love Somebody (The Bee Gees) and Kentucky Woman(Neil Diamo...

I went to the Events Cinema Carindale this afternoon to see the documentary about iconic British rock band Led Zeppelin and in the documentary it has interview with surviving members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones as well as archival interviews with John Bonham as well as talking about their upbringings in London, their musical influences, the bands they played with Robert and John in A Band of Joy and Jimmy being in the Yardbirds, John Paul Jones and Jimmy being session musicians, forming Led Zeppelin, touring America and many others as it goes to January 1970. It is AMAZING, AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AMAZING interviews and amazing footage some have never been seen before. It is directed by Bernard MacMahon who also did the screenplay with Alison McGourty and it an amazing journey from their humble beginnings to huge success with years of other music experinces behind them the documentary is well worth watching and for music fans to learn about this iconic ban...

Synchroncity The Police

In 1983 British rock group the Police released their final album called Synchroncity which was recorded at AIR studios in Salem Montserrat and Le Studio in Morin Heights Canada and it went to number 1 in the UK, USA and Australia which from the album had the hit singles Every Breath You Take, King Of Pain, Wrapped Around Your Finger and Synchronicity II and also produced by the Police with Hugh Padgham. It is now on CD as an double CD and on the first CD has the original tracks on the album and also on the 2nd CD has the b sides as well as live recordings of songs including Mesage In A Bottle and Walking On The Moon, backing tracks of 2 songs and many others which 11 non album bonus tracks which was on CD for the first time. This is the memoir of Yvonne Innes widow of British musician and member of British group Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band Neil Innes and in this book she talks about her growing up in Croydon London, meeting Neil Innes at the Goldsmiths Art School dance, their marriage in 1966 which would last 53 years and having 3 sons, her husband forming the band Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band who would achieve great success with the single I'm the Urban Spaceman, formed GRIMMS and the Rutles, working on Monty Phyton and Rutland Weekend Television as well as The Innes Book of Records, encounters with Jimi Hendrix, Paul mcCartney, George Harrison, Eric Clapton and many others. This is the memior of Author, songwriter and hairdresser and sylist Suzi Ronson and in this book she talks about seeing th Beatles in 1963, going to the Evelyn Paget College of Hair and Beauty, meets David Bowie through his mother in 1971, joins his touring party as she was to be the only working woman from hair to make up and running errands, meets Mick Ronson who was to be her husband and would have a daughter, encounters with Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop and many others. It is excellent, very impressive and very entertaining with amazing and very impressive stories which it is well worth an read. David Bowie passed away 9 years ago but the great music he made lives on today and Mick Ronson passed away 32 years but his work with David Bowie as well as the records he produced live on today too. This is an must for David Bowie fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yoruselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Almut Bruhl an chef as well as being an skater (Florence Pugh) and Tobias who worked in Wheetabix (Andrew Garfield) live together with an daughter Ella (Grace Delaney) and their world is rocked when Almut is diagnoised with cancer which she goes for treatment andd flashes back of their first meeting as well as getting together and giving birth to Ella while in current time Almut while besides from having treatment also competes in an cooking competition which gets interesting and the challenges that is ahead of them. It is excellent, touching and very entertaining with excellent acting by Florence Pugh, Andrew Gafield, Aoife Hinds, Grace Delaney, Adam James and Douglas Hodge. It is directed by John Crowley and produced by Adam Ackland, Leah Clarke and Guy Heeley. I am giving this 4 stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is the new album by British musician Eric Clapton and it was recorded between 2020-24 which has covers including an version of Moon River with Jeff Beck, the Willie Nelson song Always On My Mind with Bradley Walkeran American country singer, Smile an Charlie Chaplin and 3 songs with Van Morrison which 2 written by Van and 1 by Eric. It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs with great singing and playing by Eric who will be 80 on March 30th. The album was produced by Simon Climie who was from the UK duo Climie Fisher known for the hit Love Changes Everything in the 80's except 2 tracks which Simon produced with Eric and Jerry Douglas and Eric will be performing in Japan, UK, Italy and France. This is an must for Eric Clapton fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

Closer Kim Wilde

This is the new album by legendary British singer Kim Wilde which was recorded at Doughouse Studios in Hertfordshire and the songs on the album are co-written by her brother Ricky which he wrote 4 with Kim as well as 2 with his daughter Scarlett and also there is 2 songs on the albums that she sings with British singer Midge Ure and her niece Scarlett. It is an FANTASTIC album with FANTASTIC songs and great singing by Kim who is still sounding great at 64 and Ricky besides from writing the songs produced the album as well as playing on the album. Kim was in Australia back in October last year and will be doing shows in Europe throughout the year. This is an must for Kim Wilde fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.
