4BK Top 10 February 1964
This is from the Telegraph February 26th 1964 and this was the 4BK Top 10 with The Beatles at number 1 with I Saw Her Standing There which was from the Please Please Me album, The Beatles at number 2 with I Want To Hold Your Hand, The Dave Clark Five at number 3 with Glad All Over, The Beach Boys who was in Brisbane the month before in 1964 with Roy Orbison, The Surfaris, Paul and Paula and the Joy Boys at number 4 with Hawaii which was from the Surfer Girl album, The Beatles at number 5 with She Loves You, The Rip Chords which had Bruce Johnston (future Beach Boys member) and Terry Melcher at number 6 with Hey Little Cobra, Murray Kellum at number 7 with Long Tall Texan, Lesley Gore at number 8 with You Don't Own Me which was written by John Madara and Dave White who was from the American singing group Danny and the Juniors known for the song At The Hop, Digger Revell and the Denvermen at number 9 with the song written by Johnny Devlin My Little Rocker's Turned Surfie and Jimmy Hannan who was the hosting the Australian music show Saturday Date at the time at number 10 with an cover of the City Surfers song written by future Byrds member Roger (Jim at the time) McGuinn who played on it and Frank Gari Beach Boys which had the Bee Gees on backing vocals. It was the week that American country singer Marty Robbins played at Festival Hall Brisbane on February 25th.
