The Executives Their Aim Was To Please You by Jaesen Jones
The Executives Their Aim was To Please You is the biography about the legendary Australian 60's pop group the Executives which it's written by Jaesen Jones. In this book it talks about the beginnings when they started out as the Kingswoods in 1959, having line up changes which they would become the Associates and eventually the Executives by 1966, began recording for Festival Records which they would have a number of hit singles including My Aim Is To Please You, Sit Down I Think I Love You, touring Australia, going to America twice, the break up in 1971, reforming in the mid 70's and 1985 and many others. it's an BRILLIANT and an SUPERB book with FANTASTIC stories and AWESOME pictures. Jaesen Jones who has written 2 books about the Beatles records in Australia between 1963-91 has done an FANTASTIC job and research very well done as the members of the group including Ray Burton, drummer Rhys Clark were involved in it too which it's great to see. I get a mention in the acknowledgement which I sent Jaesen newspaper clippings of the Telegraph in Brisbane and I am very glad to have been asked to be a part of it. John Widmer who is the son of Harry Widmer who managed the Executives does the foreword and the Executives have not got recognition as they should for their part of Australian music history as they were one of the first Australian group to produced their own recordings as well as it will be 50 years this December when the Executives released their first single so let's hope for a music label to compile the definitive Executives collection which include the recordings between 1966-78 as well as the 18 unreleased recordings as well as the recordings they did in the USA. This book is a must any Australian 60's music fan as well as fans of the Executives and I am giving this 5 stars which you can buy this only onlne at- jaenahre.com/executives/ so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
