This is from the Telegraph January 19th 1965 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of the top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who had been with the station since 1958 who was also hosting the QTQ 9 music TV Show Teen Beat was on Monday to Friday from 4pm until 7pm playing the latest records which was out at that time.

Yesterday morning on my way to work I recieved an message on Facebook by Mike Steiner who was from the Brisbane rock group The Dominoes (with Darryl Wright,George Savva and Lew Noyes) to tell me that Bobby Wilde the lead singer passed away the night before which I was shocked to hear it and I posted it on the Brisbane rock n roll scene of the 50's and 60's. He was born Bobby Halliwell November 3rd 1941 and was singing around for a while when in the early 60's formed the band Bobby Wilde and the Raiders with Darryl Wright(the Tornadoes), Lew Noyes, Tommy Flanagan and Tony Heathcote which their first gig was at the Enoggera RSL/Church Hall as well as the suburban Dance Halls including Keperra Theatre and Pub gigs as well as an country tour of Queensland with Tommy Dee and the Nundah Memorial Hall Friday Night Teen dance that they shared with another Brisbane group the Saxons that had Lester Vickary on guitar and George Saava on tenor saxophone and Tommy Flanagan left which L...

Last Night I went to Carina Leagues Club where I saw the Glitterati Band which it was my first time seeing them live. Dad took me to Carina Leagues Club, went to the Dine, ordered meal, Had Rib and Wings with Slaw and Wedges for dinner, drank Coke with No Sugar,ate Ice Cream, did writing and read book. The show started after 8pm with the Glitterati Band did 3 sets doing songs by Abba, Elvis Presley, The Drifters, Shania Twain, The Jacksons, Backstreet Boys, Blondie, Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi and many others and the band members wore different clothes in the sets and also even the staff members some of them dressed up as well as the fireworks went off after 9.30pm despite the rain. The band finished their 3rd set and then there was a DJ that came on around 11.40pm playing songs by people including Tom Jones which they did the countdown at midnight as the fireworks went off, rang Dad, waited outside, Dad picked me up and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which the band played and sounded...

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the movie Song Sung Blue and Mike (Hugh Jackman) who was in Vietnam and ex alcoholic who is a musician having played in the Esquries is an Don Ho impersonator supposed to perform at the Wisconsin State Fair who wants to be himself on stage quits meets Claire (Kate Hudson) who is doing an Patsy Cline tribute and wants to do an Neil Diamond tribute tribute act with Claire's help which they call themselves Thunder and Lightning which they put an band together and starts doing gigs including supporting Pearl Jam as well as Mike and Claire get married too. Claire then gets hit by a car which she loses her leg and she struggles as well as arguing with Mike thinking he is seeing other people which they both get help and try to get the act back together which gets interesting.
