On September 12th 1975 British rock band Pink Floyd released the album Wish You Were Here which it went to number 1 in the USA, UK and Australia and it was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London from January 13th to July 28th 1975. The songs on the album were written by Roger Waters including 2 he wrote with David Gilmour and Rick Wright as well as Wish You Were Here he wrote with David Gilmour and beside from Pink Floyd the other musicians and singer playing on it including Venetta Fields, Roy Harper who sang lead on the track Have A Cigar and Dick Parry and also during the recording former bandmate Syd Barrett visited the studio. Last year (2025) it was 50 years when the album came out and it is now out on CD which I am reviewing the double CD edition. This is from the Queensland Times Ipswich January 29th 1960 and long before known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits as well as being a country music station in the 80's 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 60's which besides from being a music station it also did talent quests which lasted for many years and on February 8th 1960 it did an Talent Quest at the Town Hall at 8pm which auditions were held on February 3rd 1960 at the CWA Hall on Limestone Street at 8pm.

This is from the Telegraph January 28th 1961 and long before known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits station as well as being an country music station in the 80's 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the early 60's which they were doing music even back then as among their shows was Dance Time which was hosted by John Melouney as it was on from 9pm until midnight playing non stop dance music.

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to the advance screening of Is This Thing On. Alex(Will Arnett) and his wife Tess (Laura Dern) who have 2 sons are reaching the end of the marriage which he lives on his own in his apartment while Tess goes back to her passion which it's volleyball with a possiblity to coach for the Olympic Games. Alex signs at the Comedy Cellar for the open mic nights which he starts to do stand up comedy which he is very successful and has a fling with Jill (jordan Jensen) while Tess goes with Laird (Peyton Manning) and Alex and Tess reconcile which they caught up with their friends Balls(Bradley Cooper) and his wife Christine (Andra Day) and it gets interesting. This is from the Courier Mail January 25th 1958 and now the classic hits station in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 50's which among their disc jockeys was Bill Gates who was the one who gave the Bee Gees their name who on the next night (January 26th) hosted the show World Hit Parade Stars which was on at 9.30pm and it featured Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Paul Anka, The Crickets and Jodie Sands who were coming to Brisbane the following week at Cloudland February 3rd 1958 promoted by Lee Gordon.

This is from the Southside News January 20th 1965 and this was the 4BH Top 40 charts with Julie Rogers at number 1 with the Wedding, the boy from Moorooka Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs at number 2 with their version of the Judy Garland song Over The Rainbow, Gene Pitney at number 3 with I'm Gonna Be Strong and the Beatles at number 4 with I Feel Fine which had feedback which was one of the first heard on record. This is from the Telegraph January 19th 1965 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of the top music radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who had been with the station since 1958 who was also hosting the QTQ 9 music TV Show Teen Beat was on Monday to Friday from 4pm until 7pm playing the latest records which was out at that time.

This is from the Telegraph January 18th 1974 and now the classic hits station here in Brisbane 4BH was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 70s' which besides from being a music station it also promoted events which the next night(January 19th 1974) there was a free show at King George Square at 7pm with Jamie Redfern, Rod Kirkham and Paul Sharratt with the Queensland Concert Band conducted by Colin Thomas as well as The City of Brisbane Caledonian Pipe Band led by Pipe Major and Donald MacKinnon, Soloist were Roy Bonney and Dorothy Jeserich and Aubrey and Martin which the show was on at 7pm.

Yesterday morning on my way to work I recieved an message on Facebook by Mike Steiner who was from the Brisbane rock group The Dominoes (with Darryl Wright,George Savva and Lew Noyes) to tell me that Bobby Wilde the lead singer passed away the night before which I was shocked to hear it and I posted it on the Brisbane rock n roll scene of the 50's and 60's. He was born Bobby Halliwell November 3rd 1941 and was singing around for a while when in the early 60's formed the band Bobby Wilde and the Raiders with Darryl Wright(the Tornadoes), Lew Noyes, Tommy Flanagan and Tony Heathcote which their first gig was at the Enoggera RSL/Church Hall as well as the suburban Dance Halls including Keperra Theatre and Pub gigs as well as an country tour of Queensland with Tommy Dee and the Nundah Memorial Hall Friday Night Teen dance that they shared with another Brisbane group the Saxons that had Lester Vickary on guitar and George Saava on tenor saxophone and Tommy Flanagan left which L...

Last Night I went to Carina Leagues Club where I saw the Glitterati Band which it was my first time seeing them live. Dad took me to Carina Leagues Club, went to the Dine, ordered meal, Had Rib and Wings with Slaw and Wedges for dinner, drank Coke with No Sugar,ate Ice Cream, did writing and read book. The show started after 8pm with the Glitterati Band did 3 sets doing songs by Abba, Elvis Presley, The Drifters, Shania Twain, The Jacksons, Backstreet Boys, Blondie, Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi and many others and the band members wore different clothes in the sets and also even the staff members some of them dressed up as well as the fireworks went off after 9.30pm despite the rain. The band finished their 3rd set and then there was a DJ that came on around 11.40pm playing songs by people including Tom Jones which they did the countdown at midnight as the fireworks went off, rang Dad, waited outside, Dad picked me up and came home. It was an FANTASTIC show which the band played and sounded...

This afternoon I went to the Events Cinema Carindale to see the movie Song Sung Blue and Mike (Hugh Jackman) who was in Vietnam and ex alcoholic who is a musician having played in the Esquries is an Don Ho impersonator supposed to perform at the Wisconsin State Fair who wants to be himself on stage quits meets Claire (Kate Hudson) who is doing an Patsy Cline tribute and wants to do an Neil Diamond tribute tribute act with Claire's help which they call themselves Thunder and Lightning which they put an band together and starts doing gigs including supporting Pearl Jam as well as Mike and Claire get married too. Claire then gets hit by a car which she loses her leg and she struggles as well as arguing with Mike thinking he is seeing other people which they both get help and try to get the act back together which gets interesting.
