The Who-Sensation the Story Of Tommy

Sensation the Story Of Tommy is the documentary about the making of the rock album Tommy by British rock band the Who. Tommy was released in 1969 which it was a huge success as it revitalized the career of the Who and it was billed as a rock opera which it has sold to this day over 20 million copies as well as being being revived as a movie that was directed by Ken Russell in 1975 and a stage production that toured in the early 90's. In this documentary which explores the background, creation and impact of Tommy it has interviews with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend as archival interviews with manager Chris Stamp and John entwistle, engineer Bob Pridden, Mike McInnerney an artwork creator, David Wild an music journalist and author, Des McAnuff who directed the Tommy musical in the 90's and many others which they talk about the impact that Tommy had in the culture. It is an AWESOME and A BRILLIANT documentary with great stories and great clips on it which contains many of the songs from the Tommy album including Pinball Wizard, I'm Free, Sensation and others tracks which remains a big part of the Who's live shows to this day and also on this DVD it has footage of them on the Beat Club from 1969 doing a number of tracks from the album and a interview with Pete Townshend. It is 45 years this year when Tommy was released which it holds up very well and the songs still endures and it is a rock masterpiece indeed. It's a must for any fans of the Who and I am giving this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
