Classic Albums-The Beatles A Hard Days Night

For this week's classic album segment let's have a look at the 1964 album by the Beatles A Hard Day's Night. The recording of the album was held @ Abbey Road Studios in London and Marconi Studios in Paris France on January 29th, February 25th-27th, march 1st and June 1-4 1964 and it was released in England on July 10th 1964 which it went to number 1 there on July 19th where it stayed for 21 weeks and number 1 US which it had been released on June 26th for 14 weeks. It was produced by George Martin and from this album came the 2 hit singles the title track and Can't Buy Me Love which both number 1 hits which this album was the first Beatles album feature all original songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney as well as the name of A Hard Day's night came from a saying that Ringo Starr had said and also it was the first Beatles album to be recorded on 4 track entirely which allowed for good stereo mixes. It is a BRILLIANT album with great songs which still endures to this day with great harmonies and an guitar sound by George Harrison which he played an 12 string Rickenbacker guitar as it would be influential for groups like the Byrds and also half of the tracks from this album which were for the movie of the same name that starred the Beatles. it is 50 years this since the album came out as well as the movie and also of course the very year the Beatles emerged on the world scene which they made 2 trips to America first in February which they did the appearances on the Ed Sullivan show as well as doing shows in Washington and New York and in August did an tour and in June and July toured Holland,Denmark, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand, toured England with Mary Wells in October and in December released the Beatles For Sale album as well as more successful hits including I Want To Hold Your Hand and I Feel Fine. The album is still in the shops and be sure to listen to it as there is great stuff on it.
