The Monkees @ QPAC Concert Hall December 2nd 2016

On December 2nd 2016 I went to the QPAC Concert Hall to see the legendary American group the Monkees with Mickey Dolenz and Peter Tork which it was their first Australian tour since 1988 as well as being their 50th anniversary when the TV Show started as well as the group themselves coming on the scene which it's great to see the interest in them still as well as them releasing an new album Good Times which sounded FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT. I caught the bus to South Bank, rang home, went to the Steam Café where I had Steak, chips and Salad for dinner, drank Coke Zero, had an Sundae for desert, walk to QPAC, saw Bec from 4E who was seeing Matilda which I met her partner Reece, went inside where I bought an T shirt and an program, saw Kevin and Diane, met her brother, talked, went inside and use mobile. Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This is the autobiography of Dave Stewart songwriter and musician as well as a member of the Eurythmics and in this book he talks about growing up in Northern England, his parents split up, got his first guitar at 12, going to London in the early 70's, playing in his first band called Longdancer, meeting Annie Lennox in the mid 70's, playing in a band called the Tourist who would become the Eurythmics who would great success in the 80's with hits like When Tomorrow Comes, Sweet Dreams Are made Of This, When Tomorrow Comes etc, working with Mick Jagger, Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, No Doubt and many others. In this book he talks about getting into music as he took drumming lessons from legendary drummer Mousie Alexander, meeting Lee Rocker and Brian Sezter which they formed an band called Brian and the Tomcats who would become the Stray Cats, going to England where they recorded and would have achieve great success with hits like Rock This Town, Stray Cat Struts, Runaway Boys etc, his marriage to actress Britt Ekland which they have a son, working with the Rolling Stones, INXS, Lemmy of Motorhead, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, the Clash and many others. I'll Be Damned by Eric Braeden

I'll Be Damned is the autobiography of actor Eric Braeden. In this book he talks about his upbringing in Germany, his father's death at age 12, going to America in 1959 where he worked on the ranch as well as work in the car park and moving furniture as going to University, getting into acting, working on the TV Series the Rat Patrol, joining the US Daytime Soap The Young and the Restless as Victor Newman in 1980 which he's still there, working with people like George Kennedy, James Cameron, Burt Reynolds, fellow Y&R cast members like the late Jeanne Cooper, Melody Scott Thomas etc and many others. It's an FANTASTIC and an Excellent book with FANTASTIC stories told by Eric and I was very impressed by it. Robbie Robertson guitarist and songwriter of the legendary rock group the Band has written his autobiography called Testimony and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Canada, playing in local groups The Rhythm Chords, Thumper and the Trambones, Robbie and the Robots and Little Caesar and the Consuls, playing with Ronnie Hawkins an Canadian singer in the Hawks, which they worked on the road, working with Bob Dylan when he went electric as well as doing the world tour in 1965-66, the formation of the Band who would achieve great success with successful albums like Music From the Big Pink, The Band, Cahoots and others as well as classic songs like the Weight, Up On Cripple Creek, Rag Mama Rag etc, the famous farewell concert known as the Last Waltz and many others. In this book she talks about her upbringing in Memphis, being an Beauty Queen, meeting Elvis Presley in July 1972 which was the start of a relationship that would last for over 4 years and a half years which she talks about the joys and hardship, her 2 marriages to Olympian Bruce Jenner(now Caitlyn) with whom they have 2 sons and record producer David Foster as well as her career as an actress and an very successful songwriter and many others. It's an FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT book with FANTASTIC stories told by Linda and I enjoyed reading it. Linda Thompson lives in Malibu California and it's a must for Elvis Presley fans which I give this 4 and an half stars which it's in the shops do yourselves an favour and BUY It which you should this book and be impressed by it.

Living Like A Runaway is the autobiography of legendary musician and member of the American 70's rock girl band the Runaways Lita Ford. In this book she talks about living in England until she was 4, moving to the USA where she lived in Long Beach California, getting her first guitar at 11, joined the Runaways which would last until 1979 as well as launching the career for Joan Jett who would go onto a successful career, her solo career which she had a Top 10 hit with Close My Eyes Forever written by Ozzy Osbourne, personal problems in her life including feel trapped, isolated from the music for more than a decade as well as being alienated from her sons and others.
