Testimony by Robbie Robertson

Robbie Robertson guitarist and songwriter of the legendary rock group the Band has written his autobiography called Testimony and in this book he talks about his upbringing in Canada, playing in local groups The Rhythm Chords, Thumper and the Trambones, Robbie and the Robots and Little Caesar and the Consuls, playing with Ronnie Hawkins an Canadian singer in the Hawks, which they worked on the road, working with Bob Dylan when he went electric as well as doing the world tour in 1965-66, the formation of the Band who would achieve great success with successful albums like Music From the Big Pink, The Band, Cahoots and others as well as classic songs like the Weight, Up On Cripple Creek, Rag Mama Rag etc, the famous farewell concert known as the Last Waltz and many others. It's an AWESOME, BRILLIANT and an FANTASTIC book with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stories told by Robbie which I was very impressed with it. Robbie is still around which he still records music and the Band stopped working in 1999 after the passing of bassist Rick Danko as well as before that Richard Manuel in 1986 and Levon Helm in 2012 which leaves Robbie and Garth Hudson as the remaining survivors of the Band but their music still lives on and it sounds just as great today as ever. This book is a must for 60's and 70's music as well as fans of the Band and I give this 5 stars which it's in the shops so please do yourselves a favour and BUY this book which you should be impressed by it and to understand what it was like back in the day.
