Every Night Is Saturday Night is the autobiography of legendary American rock n roll singer Wanda Jackson. In this book she talks about her upbringing in California and Oklahoma, getting her first guitar at about 6, being discovered by country singer Hank Thompson, began recording for Decca in 1954 as well as Capitol in 1956 which she would achieve success on the country and pop charts with hits like Mean Mean Man, Let's Have A Party, Right Or Wrong , touring with Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, her relationship with Elvis Presley, the challenges she and her band the Party Timers faced when they toured in an less racially tolerant era as well as the challenges as a woman who introduced sex appeal to country music as well as rock and roll,, launching the career of country singer Roy Clark, working with Jack White, Elvis Costello and Joan Jett and many others. It's an AWESOME,BRILLIANT and an SUPERB book with BRILLIANT stories told by Wanda going through the journey through the pioneering period of rock and roll in the 50's up to now and this book was co written with Scott B Bomar which has authored or co written books like Southbound AN Illustrated History Of Southern Rock. Wanda Jackson who was inducted into the Rock n Roll hall Of Fame in 2009 is still going strong as she is still performing and recording and has just turned 80. This book is an must for Wanda Jackson fans as well as fans of 50's rock and roll as well as rockabilly fans and I give this 5 stars which it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which I'm sure you will enjoy reading it.
