Penguin Bloom
On Tuesday (Australia Day) I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to see the new Australian movie Penguin Bloom. Sam Bloom (Naomi Watts) an young woman with 3 sons whose life has changed after an near fatal accident while on holiday in Thailand which she is paralyzed after hurting her back and her husband Cameron(Andrew Lincoln) and their 3 sons Noah( Griffin Murray Johnson), Rueben (Felix Cameron) and Oli (Abe Clifford Farr) find solace and hope by finding an injured Magpie chick who they called Penguin back to health and Sam who is depressed as well as angry by breaking things starts to bond with Penguin which starts an process of emotional healing which her family including her mother Jan (Jackie Weaver) are surprised and then it gets interesting. It's sad, touching, Fantastic and Brilliant with top and Brilliant acting by Naomi Watts, Andrew Lincoln, Jackie Weaver, Griffin Murray Johnson, Felix Cameron, Abe Clifford Farr, Lisa Hensley and Rachel House. It is directed by Glendyn Ivin and Naomi Watts is one of the producers along with Emma Cooper, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky and Jodi Matterson. It is based on an true story and this movie is one of the Best performances that Naomi Watts has ever given. I give it 4 and an half stars and it is in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be amazed and touched.
