Carl Perkins and Friends Blue Suede Shoes A Rockabilly Session
On October 21st 1985 an tribute TV Special to American rock and roll pioneer Carl Perkins was recorded at Limehouse Studios in London for the 30th anniversary when he wrote the rock classic Blue Suede Shoes which was released January 1956 and Carl Perkins was joined on stage by acts who he influenced including George Harrison and Ringo Starr from the Beatles who had recorded Matchbox and Honey Don't, Eric Clapton, Roseanne Cash and others performed many of the Carl Perkins songs that have been classics in their own right as well as Jackson, Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On and also among the musicians who played at the show were Greg Perkins(Carl's son), Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom from the Stray Cats and Dave Edmunds which the show is out on CD as well as DVD which I am reviewing the CD. It is AWESOME, ROCKIN and BRILLIANT with great songs that has stood the test of time and is still sounding great today as it did back as these are songs that you can never get tired of hearing and Carl and the band were really at their peak that night. It's been 24 years since the passing of Carl Perkins but he has an great legacy of music that lives on forever and is an influence still to this day. This is an must for Carl Perkins as well as fans of 50's rock and roll and I give it 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will love it.
