4BC July 1959

This is from the Telegraph July 31st 1959 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 50's which among their disc jockeys was Geoff Atkinson who had been with the station since 1957 was on Sundays from 11am until 1pm doing the Super 70 show playing the latest records that was out at the time.

This afternoon I went to the Angelika Cinemas in Woolloongabba which it was my first time going there to see the movie Four Letters Of Love. William Coughlan(Pierce Brosnan) who is married to Betty(Imelda May) and have a son Nicholas (Finn O'Shea) quit his job in the office to do painting which he goes off to the West Coast of Ireland leaving his wife and son fending for themselves which Betty dies. Meanwhile Isobel Gore (Ann Skelly) who lives with her parents Margaret(Helena Bonham-Carter) and Muiris (Gabriel Byrne) who does poems with an brother Sean(Donal Finn) who has a fall and Isobel goes to a convent school on the mainland which she sneaks off several times which she encounters Peader (fredia Walsh-Peelo) an older boy who was rougish that would lead to Isobel getting kicked out of School and also Nicholas and Isobel cross paths eventually which gets interesting. It is AMAZING and BRILLIANT as well as very impressive and very entertaining as inspiring and it is well worth an read. Live At Fillmore East Crosby Stills Nash and Young

On September 20th 1969 American supergroup Crosby Stills Nash and Young backed up by Dallas Taylor on Drums and Greg Reeves on Bass performed the 4th of 4 shows at the Fillmore East in New York City for over 2 nights which after their performance at Woodstock and it was recorded but it was never released until last year when it came out on CD and it is now out on CD. On the live recording their songs from the 1st CSN album including suite Judy Blue Eyes, Wooden Ships and Guinnevere as well as tracks that was to be on the Deja Vu album in 1970 including Our House as well as the Beatles song Blackbird as there was an acoustic set and an Electric set. It is an FANTASTIC live album with an FANTASTIC sound and the songs are FANTASTIC live and it sounds AWESOME which it is well worth listening to. Crosby Stills and Nash ended in 2015 and David Crosby passed away in 2023 which ended any chances of an reunion but the music they made lives on and it will live on forever as great music never ...

Live From the Shangri-La The Black Sorrows

This is the new live album from the legendary Australian band the Black Sorrows and the band with Joe Camilleri who is the original member which also includes James Black who was from legendary Australian band Mondo Rock as well as Tony Floyd on drums and Atlanta Coogan on vocals perform many of the band's classic songs including Never Let Me Go, Chained to The Wheel, Daughters of Glory and an new song called Don't Look Down. It's an FANTASTIC album with FANTASTIC live sound and the songs are FANTASTIC live with great playing by the band who proves that they go forward and grow with their sound. The band have shows all around Australia coming up from August onwards including Queensland shows in Townsville and Airlie Beach. This is an must for Black Sorrows fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

It is excellent and FANTASTIC with great interviews and stories as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it well worth watching. it was directed by Bruce David Klein who also produced it with Alexander J Goldstein and Robert Rich and Liza Minnelli will be putting out an memoir in 2026 which is something to look forward to. Bellbird Country Town

On June 19th 1971 the film version of the iconic Australian TV series Bellbird was released which was called Country Town and it had most of the cast who were in the series at the time including Maurie Fields, Terry McDermott,Lynette Curran, Carmel Milhouse, Gerda Nicholson and Carl Bleazby and it is now out on DVD. Phillip Henderson(Gerard MacGuire) who is an journalist coming to Bellbird and the town are going through an severe Drought which stirs tensions which leads the locals getting together to hold a fundraising country race event and it gets interesting. It is FANTASTIC with FANTASTIC acting and the movie holds up very well today as it has not been seen for a long time which it is great to see it out on DVD as it is great to see the connection with Bellbird being released and it is also out on the streaming channel Brollie. 10CC @ QPAC Concert Hall

Last night I went to QPAC Concert Hall where I saw the legendary British rock group 10CC which it was my 4th time seeing them but it was my time seeing them in Brisbane as the other 3 have been at Twin Towns Saturday April 28th 2018, Friday February 28th 2020 and Saturday 10th June 2023. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to South Bank, Went to the Plough Inn, rang Dad, ordered meal and bought Pesi max. Had Nachos for dinner, drank Pepsi Max, went to New Zealand Natural, ate Triple Choc Tim Tam Sundae and walk to QPAC. Bought Program, Bag and an Mug (I Don't Like Cricket), bought Coke with No Sugar, drank it and went inside. The show started at 8pm with 10CC with original founding member and songwriter Graham Gouldman, Rick Fenn, Paul Burgess, Keith Hayman and Andy Park came on stage and for the next hour and 40 minutes performed many of the classic 10CC hits from the 70's including Life Is A Minestrone, Art For Art's Sake, Good Morning Judge, The Things We Do For Lov...

on Thursday night I went to Redland Perfroming Arts Centre to see legendary Australian country singer-songwriter Graeme Connors which it was my first time seeing him. Dad took me to the bus stop, caught bus to Cleveland, went to the Cleveland Sands Hotel, rang Dad, had Chicken Parmy, Chips and Salad for dinner, ate Bacon Chessy Garlic Bread, drank Coke with No Sugar, ate Choclate Brownie, paid for my meal and walk to the Redland Performing Arts Centre. Smurfs

This afternoon I went to the Cineplex cinema South Bank to see the movie Smurfs. Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is the leader of the Smurfs who has Smurfette (Rhianna), Brainy(Xolo Mariduena), Hefty(Alex Winter) and Worry Smurf(Billie Lourd) amongst others as No Name(James Corden) who feels he doesn't have a talent and Papa Smurf has been taken by Gargamel and his brother Razamel (both voiced JP Karliak) which Smurfette along with the other Smurfs go looking for him going through the real world including Australia which they would encounter people on the journey including Papa Smurf's brother Ken (Nick Offerman) and Mama Poot leade of the Snooterpoots(Natasha Lyonne) which gets interesting and obstacles as well to save Papa. This is the new CD compilation by American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen which I am reviewing the single CD edition as there is an Boxed Set Tracks II The Lost Albums and the songs on the CD that were recorded and written between 1983 up to 2018 but never were released at the time which including Follow That Dream, Unsatisfied Heart, Repo Man, The Charro and many others which were selected by Bruce Springsteen himself. It is an FANTASTIC album with FANTASTIC songs which they sound great and hearing these unreleased songs are just amazing and are worth listening to. It has gone to number 9 in Holland, number 5 in Germany and number 35 in Japan and this an must for Bruce Springsteen fans which I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is from the Telegraph July 4th 1972 and until 1992 when it became 4TAB which it is now Radio TAB 4IP was one of Brisbane's top radio stations at the time in the early 70's which had originally been based in Ipswich for many years but moved to Brisbane by the early 70's which among their radio personalities was Gray Clark who did the Women's programme as well as promoting the Family Free Funday on the Sunday at the Exhibition Grounds.

This the new duets by legendary American singer and actress Barbra Streisand which it is the companion to the 2014 she made called Partners as she duets on the album and on this album she performs with Paul McCartney on My Valentine, Bob Dylan on the Very Thought of You, James Taylor on Secret O' Life, Sting on Fragile and many others as well as among the musicians playing on the album including Leland Sklar on bass, Russell Kunkel on drums and Waddy Watchel on Guitar. It is an FANTASTIC album with great songs with great singing by Barbra along with the people singing on the album and the sound is FANTASTIC too and the album by Peter Asher from the 60's British singing duo Peter and Gordon and Walter Afanasieff who also played on the album as well and the album is at number 22 in Germany. This is an must for Barbra Streisand fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be impressed and amazed.

This is the new compilaion CD by legendary British singer Rod Stewart which I am reviewing the double CD edition and on the double CD edition it has the hits including Handbags and Gladrags, Maggie May, You Wear It Well, Sailing, Do Ys Think I'm Sexy, Young Turks, Downtown Train, Rhythm of My Heart and many others including 2 of the recordings with Jools Holland last year. It is FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT with FANTASTIC songs which has stood the test and they still sound great today as it is still appreciated after all these years as great music endures. Sir Rod as he is now just performed at Glastonbury on the weekend and starts his tour of the USA and Canada tomorrow, doing Las Vegas in September and October, Mexico and South America in October, European shows in December and 1 show in UAE on December 17th. Lets's hope he comes back to Australia again before too long. This is an must for Rod Stewart fans and I give it 4 stars as it's in the shops so please do yourselves an ...

This is from the Sunday Truth July 1st 1962 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 60's which among their disc jockeys was Johnny James who had been with the station since the 50's as he would be there until the early 70's did the Top 40 Breakfast Show during the week.
