4BC July 1968

This is from the Courier Mail July 3rd 1968 and now the talk back station as it is the only commercial one here in Brisbane 4BC was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the late 60's which besides from being an music at the time as well as Variety, news and Sports the station promoted events which on July 6th 1968 the local version of the Hoadley's National Battle of the Sounds Dance Spectacular was held at Festival Hall with iconic Australian group the Twilights including Glenn Shorrock and Terry Britten performed there as well as the 10 Brisbane finalists The Avengers, The Sect, 1863 Establishment, The Revolution, The Kind, The National Representatives, The Vibrant Souls, The Capitol Showband, The Free Love and The Bentham G and the comperes at the show were 4BC disc Jockeys Geoff Atkinson, Graham Smith, Greg Jeffrey and Mike A'Hern and also the judges were EMI Record Producer David Mackay, Steve Neale who was from the legendary Brisbane groups the Planets and the Sounds Of Seven who at the time also did Showtime Management Sydneyand Bob Dames who was from the Purple Hearts.
