This is from the Telegraph July 30th 1973 and before being known as the Good Times and Great Classic Hits station as well as an country music station in the 80's 4KQ was one of Brisbane's popular radio stations at the time in the 70's which they were known as the Better Music More News Station which among their radio personalities were Ian Skippen who was doing Breakfast from 5am until 9am, Russ Tyson who had worked on ABC radio as well as doing TV with Anything Goes on ABC TV Brisbane and also I've Got A Secret on Channel 9 was on from 9am until 11am and from 11am until 12 noon Monday to Friday and Sundays from 10am until 12pm The Stirrers Bruce Ross the chairman with Shirley Bushelle, Wilson Irving who had worked at BTQ 7 when it started in 1959 and Celia Dickson . Ian Skippen was interviewed on the final night of broadcast when 4KQ ended on Thursday June 30th 2022 by Murray Shoring which he mentioned Russ Tyson and on the special 75 Year Journey an Brisbane Icon on Sunday June 26th 2022 as well as Thursday June 30th 2022 at 6pm when it was repeated which was narrated by BBQ Bob Gallagher he mentioned Shirley Bushelle and Wilson Irving which they played an audio of Shirley talking about the floods in 1974.
