4BH Top 40 charts July 1963
This is from the Telegraph July 26th 1963 and this was the 4BH Top 40 charts with Kyu Sakamoto at number 1 with Sukiyaki, Johnny O'Keefe at number 2 with Move Baby Move, Perry Como at number 3 with Don't You Forget It and Bobby Vinton at number 4 with Blue On Blue. The new entries in the charts that week were Frank Ifield at number 30 with I'm Confessing, Cliff Richard and the Shadows at number 33 with their version of the Ruth Brown 1957 hit Lucky Lips, The Tymes at number 35 with So Much In Love, Lesley Gore at number 36 with the follow up to It's My Party and Rob EG at number 40 with 55 Days at Peking and besides from Johnny O'Keefe, Frank Ifield and Rob EG the other Australian acts in the charts that week were Rob EG(second time) at number 14 with Jezebel and Jay Justin at number 37 with Proud of You. It was on this day the same year when Joanie Noland an singer on Bandstand along with Billy Thorpe, Peter James, Johnny Pal and the Planets performed at Birdland in the city and there was an Beatnik Dance at the O'Connor Boathouse in the city.
