Brisbands-the Leather Souls and Toni McCann

Brisbands is the self published magazine done by ANdrew Ainsworth who has done the Primitif Sounds magazine that has Brisbane groups from the 60's as well as having done Ain't Got No Feelin magazine as well and in this magazine is volume no 3 what has an interview with Steve Venn of the LEather Souls and the Cherry Tree which he talks about the groups early days in Aspley an suburb inBrisane as well as playing at dances, parties, weddings as well as playing at the Battle of the Sounds show in 1966 as well as changing the groups name to the Innocents and eventually the CHerry Tree who played @ places like the Red Orb,the Snoopy's Hollow, National Hotel as well as the BAttle of the sounds in Brisbane in 1970 etc and the interview with Toni mcCann was actually done by Beccy Connell who does the fanzine Born Loser which that happened a few years ago which Toni talks about her start in Brisbane as well as her time in London as well as her career and her life now and also has an page about some of the 45's that were recorded by the Brisbane acts including some unearthed gems. It's an AWESOME and an BRILLIANT magazine with great stories and again an great job done by Andrew who has put a lot of hard work in doing this magazine which there was a volume 2 that had the interview with Paul Schoor of the Brisbane group the Escorts but it's not available at the moment. This is an must for any music fan of the 60's as well as fans of the Brisbane music scene of that era and you can only get it by going to the Primitif sounds website to do that. I am giving this 5 stars
