Lance Lipinsky and Bobby Brooks Wilson @ Twin Towns

On Sunday night June 8th I went to Twin Towns Breezes Lounge to see the American singers Lance Lipinsky and Bobby Brooks Wilson which it was promoted by Matman Promotions as it was my 7th time seeing Lance and my 4th time seeing Bobby and until that night I had not seen them live since Friday June 12th 2010 @ Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club. the show started @ 7. 30pm with the back up band Sidekicks did an set of songs which included the Beatles & Creedence Clearwater Revival and then Lance Lipinsky came on stage which he did an AWESOME set doing Jerry Lee Lewis songs as well as one of his own songs which he did the movements as well as standing on the piano and even played guitar on one song which was great to see. There was an interval which Lance was selling his CD so I bought it, got it signed and got a photo with him as well. sidekicks performed 1 song and then Bobby Brooks Wilson came on stage which he performed songs by Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Ben E King and his father Jackie Wilson as well as Bobby got the crowds to sing along to most of the songs as well as kissing of the ladies hands and everyone were enjoying themselves. I left Twin Towns after 11pm when bobby finished his set as I had to go back to Bella Mare to go to bed as I had to come back home to brisbane the next morning. It was an AWESOME show which I had a great time and Lance and Bobby were just AWESOME too sounding great and I look forward to seeing them again soon which to those who have not seen them GO and SEE THEM which you shall enjoy it as they do great tributes to great acts whose music holds up very well to this day. Vale Peter Flanagan(the Fauns/The Flanagans)

Peter Flanagan member of legendary Australian singing family group the Fauns aka the The Flanagans passed away on September 2nd aged 73 at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. Peter along with brother Paul and Sister Margaret began as the Fauns in 1959 as they had been doing classical music training which they released 3 singles on the Leedon label- Dance With Me/Don't Take the Stars, We Should Be Together/While Susan Sleeps and Nursery Rhymes Rock and as the Flanagans they released 4 singles on the HMV label-He/Wonderland Of Love and Dreams(1965), Follow the Wind/Land OF Beyond(1965), You Were Meant FOr Me/That's How Man Began(1966) and This is My Song/For Bobby(1967). the group did appearances on Bandstand,Six O'Clock Rock, Teen Time, The Johnny O'Keefe Show, Sing Sing Sing, the Mike Walsh Show, IMT, Revue 61, Revue 62 and many others as well as performing on the Matt Munro TV special in 1966 as well as performing in the clubs too as well as co writing the song...

This is the book about 2 iconic Australian music shows that were on Channel 0 (now Channel 10)back in the 60's The Go Show on August 4th 1964 which lasted for 3 years and 222 episodes until September 17th 1967 and Kommotion hosted by Ken Sparkes was on from December 13th 1965 until September 28th 1967 after 356 episodes and in the book it has the info about both shows as well as episode guides as well the discography of both the Go label and the Kommotion label and the people who worked on Kommotion including Denise Drysdale and Molly Meldrum and many others including some memorabilla and photos of the artists. It is AWESOME, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with FANTASTIC and AWESOME stuff and amazing information about the Go Show which just celebrated 60 years an month ago and Kommotion as well as very impressive and very entertaining which it is well worth an read.
