Jim Keays Age Against the Machine
Age Against the Machine is the new album by the late Jim Keays singer of the legendary Australian rock band The Masters Apprentices. This album was recorded @ Hothouse Studios in St Kilda where the Dirty Dirty album was recorded and among the songs on the album are If You Got To Make A Fool Somebody (an James Ray song which British group Freddie and the Dreamers had their first hit with it in 1963), Come On(The Atlantics song from 1967), It's Alright(Adam Faith from 1965), Cadillac (Bo Diddley song)and I Got A Line(Spirit) etc. It's AWESOME,ROCKIN and BRILLIANT with great songs and great singing by Jim despite being ill. This album was produced by Ted Lethborg who also played on it along with the other musicians including Davey Lane(You Am I) with Jez Giddings as engineer who also did the mixing, Finn Keane engineered on one track and Craig Hamath did the additional engineering. This album was completed before Jim passed away but was released back in June this year and it is still hard to believe that it's been over an year since he passed away but the music he made on this album as well as the work he did with the Masters Apprentices as well as his solo work will live on forever. This album is a must for Masters Apprentices fans as well as Australian music fans as well as Jim Keays fans which I give this 5 stars as it's still in the shops now so do yourself a favour and BUY IT.
