Been So Long by Jorma Kaukonen

Been So Long is the autobiography of American guitarist and founding member of 2 successful groups Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna Jorma Kaukonen and in this book he talks about living in Pakistan and the Philippines, learning to play piano in the late 40's and guitar in 1956, his teenage years in Washington DC, playing with Jack Casady in the Triumphs, playing the folk scene in the early 60's in San Francisco as well as jamming with Jerry Garcia, Janis Joplin, bob Dylan and other contemporaries, forming Jefferson Airplane in 1965 which they would achieve success with 2 Top 10 hits as well as classic albums, forming Hot Tuna with Jack Casady in 1969, his solo work, his addiction with drugs and alcohol which he has been sober since the 90's, his 2 marriages and many others. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with AWESOME stories which I enjoyed reading it and Jorma is still performing either on his own as well as Hot Tuna with Jack Casady and also owns the Fur Peace Ranch Guitar Camp with his second wife Vanessa for studying guitar and other instruments. He is among one of the great rock guitar players in the history of rock as his work with Jefferson Airplane holds up very well and Jack Casady did the afterword and lead singer Grace Slick does the Foreword. This is an must for Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna fans as well as fans of 60's music and I give this 5 stars as it's in the shops now so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you should reading this book by an true legend of rock.
