Second Act
On Sunday I went to the South Bank Cinema where I saw the movie Second Act. Maya Vargas (Jennifer Lopez) who is an assistant manager in Value Shop wants to have an promotion and is an innovator which she listens to the customers and delivers results but when an college educated man gets that job she wants to prove that street smarts are just as good as book smart and she reinvents herself and her story when she joins up an beauty company which through her best friend Joan(Leah Remini) and her son Dilly (Dalton Harrod) make an fake resume including mountain climbing and rowing and she becomes an consultant for the company which she bluffs her way through as well as gradually wins over the disbelievers including the boss's daughter Zoe (Vanessa Hudgens) and it gets interesting. It's excellent and very funny with excellent acting by Jennifer Lopez, Leah Remini, Vanessa Hudgens, Treat Williams and Charlyne Yi. It's directed by Peter Segal and Jennifer Lopez was also one of the producers with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Justin Zachman and Benny Medina as well as Justin and Benny doing the screenplay. I give this 4 stars and it's in the cinemas as it was released last Thursday so do yourselves an favour and see it.
