The Father

On Tuesday I went to the Dendy Cinema Coorparoo to the movie The Father. Anthony (Sir Anthony Hopkins) has dementia  is visited by his daughter Ann (Olivia Colman)  and is having issues with his caretaker  who is accused for stealing his watch and  is starting to forget things including important. Ann is planning to move to paris with her boyfriend and Anthony is getting confused and frustrated. An caretaker named Laura (Imogen Poots ) us hired which they get friendly and she reminds him of  his other daughter Lucy and then it gets interesting. It's FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with BRILLIANT and FANTASTIC acting by Anthony Hopkins in his Oscar winning role which it's his second, Olivia Colman, Imogen Poots, Olivia Williams, Rufus Sewell and Mark Gatiss. It's directed by Florian Zeller which  he did the screenplay with Christopher Hampton and producers were David Parfitt, Jean Louis Livi, Phillippe Carcassone , Christophe Spadone and Simon Friend. It 's a great story and to those of us who have experience seeing anyone we love going through dementia  I think we can identify with that going through confusion and frustration as well as losing themselves which it's sad to see that. I give it 5 stars and it's in the cinemas now so do yourselves an favour and SEE IT which you will be amazed.
