Sometimes The Music by Helene Grover
In her autobiography Helene talks about her upbringing in France as her parents who were Russian and Polish were holocaust survivors, emigrated to Australia at age 9, the passing of her father the following year, achieving success as a songwriter in 1960 with Barefoot Boy by Noeline Batley, doing acting and theatre agency, her 26 year relationship with jazz musician Serge Ermoll which she produced , managed and recorded several albums, launching Laughter Strategies and many others. It is FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT and SUPERB with impressive, funny, adventurous and very entertaining stories and is worth a read for someone who has been around Australian entertainment for over 60 years. Helene should be acknowledged as a pioneer of Australian music as she was the first Australian female songwriter to have a hit single and Noeline should be considered for an ARIA Hall Of Fame for her impact on Australian music. This is a must for Australian music fans and I give it 5 stars as you can only get it on amazon.com.au so do yourselves an favour and BUY IT which you will be amazed and impressed.
